We live local to the longe a pop in now and again it used to be bar service which was ok but I prefers table service. We went last night 3 of us, it was quite busy and service was slow and not consistent, what I mean by that is it was no one waiters responsibility, so we were left a while before being offered drinks. We ordered food when we eventually ordered our drinks. We ordered 3 starters and 3 main courses, it took a while for the food to come out which was ok as we were chatting. When it eventually came out everything came out at once ???. With the exception of one starter. I told the manager about it and he apologised . And offered us a free drink, we never saw him or the drinks again. The food was excellent and we really enjoyed it. After our meals our plates were left for a long time someone then came to take them away, she took half and never came back. We then asked for a dessert menu to be told there wasn’t one but was told verbally what there was. Again the desserts were very good apart from the lack of ice cream, it seemed less than a portion? It was a thought they were running out and we got what was left. The lounge has changed manager recently so I think they were having a lot of teething problems. I used to run a pup and the waiters were allocated a number of tables to look after, giving them the responsibility for making sure customers were happy and also we didn’t tip because we know who to tip and to be honest it was poor. We would go again because the food and atmosphere was great, just hope the...

After attending the restaurant on Sunday and ordering the beef stroganoff, I woke up Monday morning feeling terribly ill. All throughout the day I was in and out of bed with terrible sickness and a bad stomach which carried on through the whole of Monday night until Tuesday afternoon when I started to feel better. My partner ordered pizza and was absolutely fine so the beef must’ve been off. We decided to message the restaurant regarding our bad experience and to try warn them to prevent anyone else becoming ill. Considering how ill I’d been due to the food that they served us, the message we sent was pretty reasonable as you can see in the screenshot attached. However for the restaurant to have seen and read the message and then proceed to just ignore us by not replying or even saying ‘we’re sorry for your bad experience’ just shows how arrogant the service really is. I’ve read previous reviews that say similar things like food poisoning and the staff being unfriendly. You don’t mind spending your hard earned money on good food and a good service but to not be acknowledged just shows that they don’t have any idea about customer satisfaction or that the restaurant even care about they’re customers at all. After trying to take your family out for a nice meal, and it causing someone to become ill and then having the arrogance to ignore you, we definitely won’t be returning and we’ll be telling everyone we know not to give you any business to save them...

We made a visit to this place last weekend and really pleased we did. The atmosphere here is relaxed and pleasant. The staff friendly and jolly and quite helpful. The venue itself is pleasantly decorated and clean. A nice open space with good access in and out. Outside is a nice seating area with again plenty of space.

The food it’s self was really good a good helping of food. I had the steak and ail pie which was very tasty, the pastry was a little too much but again nice. My only criticism with the steak and ail pie would be you don’t get enough gravy, plenty of people may disagree but for me I like a good helping of gravy. Family had fish and chips which were apparently fantastic and I must say did look really good. A tandoori chicken burger, again looked really good presentation wise and again delicious and a beef burger which was great all the food was eaten and thoroughly enjoyable.

If I was to may one criticism it would Be when the food was served the server rather than going around the table and serving (with plenty of room to do so) she was leaning over and between us to serve. This made us have to move a little to allow her to do this. This by no means is a compliment. Just an inexperienced member of staff maybe. It certainly did not spoil our visit. Overall we were very happy with the food and service and loved the venue.

Would we eat here again? YES Would we recommend...

First time here and we had a very nice lunch in nice surroundings at a decent price. I had burger and chips for £11 with bacon and cheese for an extra £1.50. Very meaty and clearly home made. Helen had mussels and sea bass from the tapas menu. Both were great and the sea bass was only £7-odd, despite being virtually a main without the potatoes. Mally had chicken madeira for about £12 and that was lovely too. Very spacious place with a good choice of premium beers and ales. Fair amount of parking too. Highly recommended.
