Customer service disaster !!!

Arrived at 11.29 and sat down, asked if we were ok for breakfast

Saturday girl looks at watch and says no !

There was no, I will ask in the kitchen, no well what is it you want..... just no !

We got up and left..... it was 11.31 !!

If you like your cafes with poor customer service and super ridgid rules applied 1 minute early..... this is the place for you !!

Will not be going again, which is sad..... I used to like it

I will now frequent my other fave places more, currently sat in Jacques and having breakfast..... at gone 11.30 would you believe it !!!!

I have left my old review below so you can see from which heights they have fallen..... Although I may remove it as I no longer feel as I did when I wrote it

My favourite local cafe, updated!! I still love this cafe and visit on my own, feeling very comfortable, and also eat there with friends and family. The menu is constantly evolving and Fran and Frank have a wonderful repertoire of 'round the world' soups and mains to enjoy. Solos is regularly redecorated and always looks clean and inviting. Two waitresses, each the perfect mix of pleasant, polite and professional now work across the week Tuesday to Saturday. Saturday afternoons offer a variety of music acts in the Summer which are diverse and entertaining as background. Note: Saturday fills up from 1.30pm for this reason, so book early. They also offer much of the menu as 'take away'. ...

Overall poor experience. Arrived 12.30, unoccupied tables still covered with previous diners' leftovers. Waited 20 minutes for order to be taken, two Lasagnes. After a further 25 minute's wait, asked how much longer meals would be. Told they were being prepared, there was a rush of customers. Well no surprise there as it was lunchtime . After a total waiting time of 55 minutes the food arrived. Looked good but think chef must have used sugar in place of salt in recipe, tasted very sweet. Response was they have not had a complaint before. Maybe customers do not want to offend staff. Ate mine, so hungry, wife left most of hers. More...
