Lucia's Coffee + Bakehouse — Restaurant in England

I'd just walked from Ambleside, around Loughrigg Fell, so was hungry on arrival in Grasmere at lunchtime. Google ratings drew me to Lucia's, so I headed to College Street only to find it wasn't open. But round the corner on Broadgate I then spotted little bakery with a couple of outside tables and a few high stools inside. This place was perfect, and it was open. I discovered this place was Lucia’s, too. My plateful of three salads - no meat, fish or dairy; no lettuce or cucumber - was delicious and filling. I remember beet, barley and toasted nuts; orzo with roasted cucumber; and mayo-free roast potato salad. My request for decaffeinated tea was approved, so I was very happy. I also noted that at least half of the customers were locals who chatted with the staff about life in the village. The prices were good. I wouldn’t change...

What an amazing experience at Lucia’s . The food was great especially the sausage roll with chilli jam and the focaccia. But the show stopper was the coffee art done by this incredible barista whose name I forgot to ask. I have never seen a swan on a cappuccino and a bunny rabbit on a cortado ….fantastic!! And then you can’t go wrong with the views around here. Overall had a great time at Lucia’s and would highly recommend a coffee...

We made a trip here planned in ahead of our walk, we arrived at 9:05 but they asked us to wait outside another 5 minutes, I wanted the bacon focaccia but asked to wait as still cooling so another 10 minutes, they said to come back, we went back 10 minutes later ordered the focaccia, guess what 10 minutes to cook, we were the 1st in the shop why not just say yes it will take 10 minutes we will get everything else ready!
