The tale of our lost boat and the rescue from the owner: My friend & I decided to try out Faeryland Boating service after a glowing recommendation from another friend, and we couldn't have been happier with our experience. From the moment we arrived, we knew we were in for a treat. Upon arrival, we were given clear and concise instructions on safety measures and how to operate the boat, which was reassuring as we were relatively inexperienced boaters. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel at ease from the get-go. However, halfway through our boating adventure, the wind suddenly picked up, and we found ourselves struggling to navigate the waters. Panic started to set in as we weren't sure how to handle the situation. Just when we thought our day might be ruined, the owner -Rick- came to our rescue. He skillfully guided us back to safety in the middle of the lake, saving the day and turning our predicament into an unforgettable memory. Rick saw how scared we were, he offered us hugs to calm down and tell us how well we did to get back. (Thanks much Rick!) What amased us the most was the owner's kindness and generosity. Not only did he not charge us extra for being back late, but he even insisted on giving us back our deposit. This act of goodwill left us truly touched. One of the highlights of our visit was discovering the owner's collection of stunning postcards, all taken by him with his phone. They showcased the area's breathtaking views and made for a perfect souvenir to cherish the memories we created. The setting itself is perfect for a romantic escape, away from the hustle and bustle of touristy areas. We enjoyed the tranquility and peacefulness of the place, which allowed us to relax and soak in the beautiful surroundings. Additionally, Faeryland provided various sections of tea, snacks, and drinks, adding to the overall delightful experience. Overall, Faeryland exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend this place for anyone seeking a romantic getaway with breathtaking views and a memorable experience. We'll definitely be back soon to create more unforgettable memories , and we'll be sure to share the tale of our lost boat with our friends and family, laughing about...

I waited before leaving a review as I wanted it to be honest and not filled with fury. The week of September 13th my partner took me to the lakes as a birthday treat. My birthday being on the Wednesday he was absolutely buzzing to be taking me to Faeryland to go on a boat for my birthday. He had been following all the information for months, planning everything down to the time we would be arriving at Faeryland. Only for us to arrive to find it closed! No prior warning, no posts online informing of closures. Nothing! My partner obviously upset after many months of planning verbally expressed his upset to myself only to have, I assume the owner, hurl abuse at us from his car behind us! “IM TAKING MY DAUGHTER TO UNI!” Not a single ounce of an apology in sight. I Truly whole heartedly hope your daughter has a wonderful experience at Uni and achieves all she dreams of. But what you did not realise was that my partner had planned months in advance to propose to me on that boat that day. With not a single ounce of an apology or slight understanding of why he might be so frustrated to find it closed after months of planning and even after checking online that morning where your information stated business was open as normal. I truly hope you don’t treat the rest of your paying customers this way and I hope you learn to have some understanding and update your page so no other couples end up in such an unfortunate circumstance as we/my partner did. I will not ever try to return and I certainly will not be suggesting you to anyone in ear shot. Very...

This place is absolutely free to enter , you are asked to purchase a drink from the kiosk if taking photos of this delightful area A good selection of hot and cold drinks , cakes and biscuits, sandwiches etc: all at reasonable prices ( it's a tea area after all ). All seating is outside, some under a weatherproof canopy This area has access to Grasmere Lake so has rowing boats for hire , on my visit two people went paddle boarding from here. A family of swans are resident here due to the access to the lake and the proprietor being a kind bird lover keeping them well fed. On site is a beautiful old Romany horse drawn caravan in excellent condition. I have been visiting this site for decade's and highly recommend it , it's a leisurely 15 minute stroll from the centre of Grasmere along Red Bank Road Which is a C type road shared with access only cars , so...

Wandering around Grasmere we came across an intriguing sign announcing a space called Fairyland. Closer inspection revealed it to be a little outdoor cafe and boating area on the edge of the water. We just had a coffee and a scone, seating ourselves in an intriguing little shelter, looking out across the lake. The day was rather grey but, in high summer, the view will be amazing. Service was great, the coffee was good and we were able to watch some parents taking their children for an adventure, rowing across the water. A great wee spot for a stop to have a warming drink and enjoy a lovely vista.

Lovely place, perfect to have a tea break after a walk. It is outdoor only with colourful little tables and a nice and relaxing ambiance with great view over the lake. There is a wide tea selection and the cakes were really good (I can tell you that my lemon drizzle cake did not had time to admire the view!). There is also some dog treats to buy that our girl loved! The man managing the place was also nice and friendly. We really enjoyed taking the sun and take a breather here. There is boat to hire and so you are aware no toilets.
