Our recent visit to the Bridge House was our 2nd and will definitely not be our last. The staff are very welcoming, friendly and efficient. Dedicated car park space was a blessing. Great location in the middle of Grasmere. Breakfast was freshly made, plentiful and delicious. Free teas, coffees and scones available for guests, this was a treat to look forward to after being out in our unfortunately typical English damp weather. Takeaway selection available from a sister hotel, this was lovely to have and eat in the heated conservatory. Lovely large bedrooms, well equipped and luxurious complimentary toiletries. We had a room beside the river which I loved, this was actually quite loud as it was in full flow, could be heard with the windows closed so could bother some people, our previous visit we stayed on the opposite side of the hotel which was much quieter. Whilst the hotel was a little more expensive than we are used to, the extras made it worthwhile and will be our first choice when we next visit The Lake District.

Wow! What a wonderful spot! We were in grasmere for a local event for just night and we regretted not booking to stay longer just to enjoy this hotel. The complimentary cream tea in the pantry was a delightful surprise and from the moment we arrived the service and friendliness of staff were incredible. The rooms were beautifully decorated and both tastefully modern and period at the same time. The bed linen didn’t feel super soft and the wardrobe rattled a bit when you walked past but other than that I couldn’t fault the place. Breakfast was great and quite novel and fun to be able to chat to the chef whilst he makes your cooked breakfast and you choose your continental items. The hotel is in a beautiful spot with great views, and is just a great space inside and out, I loved the little duck terrace and the lawn out front. Will definitely be coming back here in future and telling all my friends about it.

Good and bad really. Position of the hotel is fantastic in the village. The hotel its self is beautiful and looks stunning with the glass fronted area over looking well kept grounds with mountain views. The fresh scones and endless tea and coffee are a lovely touch. Then we got our room...401, in the annex. This is the bad bit. The decor, as the staff explained was art deco..i'd call it drab and very old fashioned and shabby. It was a terracotta colour and i mean everywere, walls, skirtings, archetraves, radiator. It was so dull, then bottel green carpets and multicoloured curtains. The furniture was from my nans house. Not sure who picked the colour scheme but its really bad. And the room was quite tired with wear and tear. The bathroom was lovely, and breakfast was 1st class..would have loved to re-visit but not with that colour scheme.🙄🥴

This was our second time staying at The Bridge, chosen especially for our 43rd Wedding Anniversary and because of a previous, excellent stay here, last July. We enjoyed yet another comfy stay here, greeted once again with a smile and cheer, this time by Rhian. We were surprised to learn our room had been upgraded at no extra cost to help celebrate our special stay, treated also by a lovely card and small box of hand made chocolates - so felt thoroughly spoilt. Our room was perfect in size, storage, well stocked bathroom and a comfy bed (!); the room complemented by the Tea / Coffee / Biscuits, as well as the lovely river outlook - so relaxing to hear.

From booking in and sadly going home, ALL the staff were warm, welcoming and friendly. So on this visit, our big shout outs go to Rhian, Sarah and 'Bish' their new Chef, along with all back ground personnel too. A True Credit to the Management. Nothing was too much trouble, always ready to help and of course Bish cooking up really tasty and well presented Breakfasts. The speciality of The Bridge is, not only the small & cosy but you are treat to their complementary Scones and Teas / Coffees in the afternoon - a great relaxer after long walks! (Their scones being freshly baked and homemade!).

Yet again, we arrived as Customers and as we always regrettably returned home, we remain as friends. Shall certainly return.

It speaks volumes when you return to Hotels and see the same Staff, I think this projects a happy group and a good working environment - hard to secure for the hospitality trade these days; Staff can be subjected to working difficult circumstances, trying to please all, with differing expectations and taste etc, but the staff here cope with this in a professional and caring manner. So...

This is a small intimate hotel where the staff get to know you. They are all very professional, friendly and helpful, they are attentive not intrusive. They advise you of your room number before hand and this is also your allocated parking space. Our room was on ground floor room 105 right on the river. The room is spacious well laid out, comfortable, clean, and has everything essential for a good stay. The bed was comfy and very good size. The hotel offers scones and cream, or pastries and hot drinks in the afternoon included in the price and they were very fresh and delicious. The hotel is next to village shops and 5 minute walk to the famous grasmere gingerbread shop , which is well worth the average 20 minute wait. There is a sister hotel which is approximately 300 yards away , and you have use of the swimming pool and sauna. This is also where dinner is served and it is a nice walk there and back and worth the effort for the delicious food. I am vegetarian and Although the menu is limited the staff are so helpful and accommodating I would advise just talking to them . I would like to mention Ben the chef at the bridge who helped with my vegetarian breakfast and it was delicious and also the standard of the chefs at the sister hotel the inn. I would highly recommend this intimate hotel, and service and especially all of the staff thank you for a...

Bridge House Hotel in Grasmere is an absolute gem deserving of a solid 5-star review! Our stay at this charming establishment was nothing short of delightful.

We had the pleasure of staying in room 404, a small and cozy haven that radiated warmth and comfort. Impeccably clean and well-maintained, it provided the perfect retreat after a day exploring the picturesque surroundings.

The staff at Bridge House Hotel were a true highlight of our visit. Their warm and welcoming demeanor made us feel right at home. Their willingness to assist and their attention to detail truly elevated our stay.

The breakfast experience was another standout feature. With a wide array of options to choose from, breakfast felt like a special occasion each morning. The fact that it was made fresh to order added that extra touch of excellence.

In the heart of Grasmere, this hotel boasts not only a prime location but also an undeniable charm that resonates throughout. Bridge House Hotel has certainly left a lasting impression on us, and we wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking a beautiful, comfortable, and hospitable retreat in the Lake District. Five stars, no question...
