M&S Café — Restaurant in England

Our first experience of this M&S cafe today and we unfortunately won’t return, Staff behind the counter seemed pleasant, however, we initially received an incomplete order, so there appeared to be a misunderstanding somewhere, which was rectified though after i explained we were missing items from our order. (Hence i pushed to 3 stars for service) Part of our order was 2 rounds of toast, which arrived roughly 7-8 mins apart! Surely M&S cafe have more than one 2-slice toaster? Orders for other customers even came out before our 2nd round of toast? Now everyone likes their food prepped differently, but the bread was barely toasted on one side and barely even warm on the opposite side. The crockery is lovely to look at, but mainly silly sized. The cup i was given for my tea was more espresso cup sized, which made the teapot seem generous. However, the tea had barely any taste to it and i tried to get everything out of the teabag. The coffee cup was also barely much bigger than my teacup. All in all, it was just a disappointing experience and not at all what we expect from M&S. I will continue to shop in the grocery part of the store, as a lot of M&S food is lovely, but the cafe will be a no-go area...

Great friendly staff and always service with a smile. Coffees are made with care and taste lovely, especially the limited edition summer beans. Café itself clean and tidy and now a much more comfortable...

Excellent product range at prices that are very reasonable when comparing to other supermarkets. Bargains at end of day excellent. Chicken for 60pence!...
