Sorry to have to add this bad experience but this is what I will be sending to Stonegate Pubs -
I entered The Blagdon Arms around 18.00 hours, having deliberately selected this public house for a meal and a pint, having enjoyed a walk around Cramlington. I studied a menu and decided upon cheddar cheese and bacon burger with chips (8oz) - £8.29. I also ordered a pint of Holy Cow! I have no doubt all of this will be logged on the 'till'. 40 minutes later, having no other contact with the two female staff on duty, I decided to ask for a refund, as I had spent far too long waiting for food where no one else was eating. I was informed at that point that the food was about to be delivered, but it was far too late. L, whom I later discovered to be the shift manager, returned the money without so much as a thank you or an apology, and rolled her eyes - I felt as if I was to blame, yet the other member of staff excused the delay as being due to a technical fault - still, not my fault! As I left the premises L was heard to shout, "Does anyone want a burger"? I felt that I was being ridiculed, and felt insulted. When I arrived home I decided to phone the general manager but ended up speaking to L, the person who had insulted me earlier, and when I told her how I felt about her attitude L informed me that I would be able to speak to Michael tomorrow, whilst using the phrase, "No problem"! Far from it; I think there is a major problem, here, regarding customer relations. If someone had approached me and informed of the delay, or offered an apology, I would not be sending this message. I may not be a regular customer but I would say I have visited The Blagdon about 4 to 6 times a month, eating food therein. It is highly unlikely, now, that any of my family or friends will visit the establishment. It is, now, not a place I would recommend to people visiting Cramlington; the experience ruined my evening. To that end I would suggest that some customer service training is needed. I would point out that if I behaved in a similar manner, in my profession, I would be facing a disciplinary procedure. I do hope this matter is taken seriously and that I do receive feedback, as that is all I really require - hearing how Stonegate intends to improve the service, and prevent similar...
Read moreReally disappointing Sunday lunch. Firstly we should have walked away before sitting down seen as I had to swap the chairs as it looked like it had been peed on a number of times, but we ordered from the app the turkey dinner was crossed out but the triple meat wasn't so we ordered 1 triple meat and 1 beef dinner. The triple meat only had beef and pork no-one said anything about it just put the food down on the table. We had to ask for our drinks he came with the coke and said they were out of sprite so I asked what they had that didn't have caffeine in, he went away to find out came back and said appletiser and juice all them nice things... I told him it's ok and we got our money back for my drink. The food was not good Parsnips weren't cooked or fresh, the mash was instant mash, the beef must have been boiled then reheated or something it was vile. The pork was better but not by much. There was no seasoning on any of the food the only thing that looked homemade was the yorkshire pudding which was burnt on top and just cooked on the bottom. I've never walked out of somewhere after having food and needed to eat chewing gum but I did today. We should have left before sitting down. Won't be returning...
Read moreGot to say I went on a Sunday, as in the past the Sunday dinner has been fantastic. So me and the whole family were looking forward to it. Especially the cauliflower cheese which was phenomenal last time. Regretfully we were bitterly disappointed. Veg was bland, toasties like bricks, mash potato like blended sandpaper. Although rocking up at 12 only beef was available and that was very obviously out a boil in a bag packet or just warmed up out of a sandwich pack. All the optional sides were not available either. However the staff were very accommodating and helpful. When I say staff I mean staff as in singular. The poor lad called Oliver was serving the bar to good sized groups, taking orders running through the back to the kitchen, getting orders out the lot. Rushed off his feet, no one about to give the poor lad a break. Which is probably why the tables weren't cleaned and clearly just quick wiped down and the toilets not maintained or stocked with the necessary toiletries. Real shame as I know the place deserves a better rating from past experiences and it can have a great atmosphere with the regulars and...
