From the moment we walked through the door at Meat 59, we were greeted with warm smiles and a genuinely friendly welcome. We were promptly shown to our table, and the staff even complimented my partner on her makeup—a thoughtful touch that set the tone for the rest of the evening.
As it was our first visit, we appreciated being given plenty of time to browse the menu and settle in with our drinks. A board of daily specials caught our eye—something you don’t see often these days, and a nice indication of the kitchen’s creativity.
For the main course, I opted for the “Smoking Cow” burger and doubled it with chicken. The burger was cooked to absolute perfection—flavourful, juicy, and expertly balanced. The chicken added another layer of texture and taste, and I couldn’t fault it in the slightest.
My partner chose the “Hot Chip” as a smash burger, also doubling it. She thoroughly enjoyed it, though mentioned she would have preferred the chilli jam to pack a bit more heat.

Read moreAs a vegetarian I wasn't sure what to expect from this kind of small burger place on the outskirts of the town centre, but I was very impressed by the look and feel of the place, the entertaining and extensive menu and of course the quality of the food.
I was tempted my the humorous named "Boom, Boom, shake the shroom" but due to my utter hatred of mushrooms I instead went for the "Green Cow" which was a very tasty vegetable burger with a beetroot base giving it the colour. Myself and my friend opted for the lunchtime special which gave fries and slaw for a discounted package price. The sweet potato fries were tasty and the slaw was OK but I wouldn't say it was much to write home about, but as part of the deal I suppose it was OK.
The member of staff (Saturday 5th October) was very friendly and professional. As a business owner myself I was very impressed that she was intrigued how we had heard of Meat59 since we'd earlier told her it was our first time at the restaurant. Read moreI visited meat 59 yesterday, I had no reservation but they were able to seat us. They prepared to seat us in the middle table until I mentioned I suffer from severe social anxiety and unlike other restaurants they were more than happy to accommodate and pop us in a quiet corner by the window. The staff were lovely and spoke in a calm and friendly manner and for the first time in my dining experiences I never felt uncomfortable or anxious. We had such an amazing time I didn't even notice how seamlessly they had lessened my anxiety until I got home and reflected on dinner. The food was amazing as expected and the prices were reasonable but the main reason I wanted to write this review is so the staff that worked last night can see this because truly they got everything in their approach right and I wish all restaurants followed suit!
