Mature Trees adorn the park gardens with an Oak Tree being the central statuesque feature..
Wooden benches provide seating for visitors with scenic views out into The Bay, as far as Berry Head..
"THE CELEBRATION ITALIAN GARDENS"..
Compared to the mature old gardens the new celebration setting is quite bland..
The difference can be viewed in the posted photographs, the Mature Palm Trees and Colourful Flower Beds added character and charismatic charm to the gardens, which tourists, visitors and local residents adoringly admired..
The pond when full with functioning fountains and waterfall is an attractive setting, during summer months attracts Colourful Dragonflies..
A Miniature Wildlife Characterised Golf Course with Animal Statues provides a humorous challenge to all visitors..
DECEMBER 19TH 2023..
"The cutting down of 40 mature 'palm trees' was carried out by Southwest Integrated Services Company (SWIzzCo), who are wholly employed by Torbay Council and are responsible for managing a variety of public service departments..
A statement issued by SWIzzCo said that the work had initially not been able to progress due to the pandemic and budget pressures. They admitted they had "raced ahead" to make a start on the work before the Italian Gardens' centenary in 2024 but "failed to let you, Torquay Council know that they were going to be making a start on the scheme", just before Christmas, leaving the area void of trees, plants, wild birds for local residents, visitors..
Racing Ahead to cut down the Mature Palm Trees was such that by the time local residents realised what was happening, it was to late to take the necessary action to stop the decimation..

Seats and tables for a picnic in the better weather. Pleasant park if you want some peace and quiet. Just across the road...
