Mediterranean Steak and Wine — Restaurant in England

We had a group of 9 dining last night . Food was (ie steaks tender) good, we ate it all. . Service was fine, and friendly . Entertainment was good, but a little too loud . Difficult to have a conversation . We really enjoyed it and it added to atmosphere. Tables are very basic / rustic. Prices are a bit on high side as not a ‘Fine Dining ‘ experience. I had forwarded link to the guests of the website / menu and it was noted that on the website, it clearly says 20% discount Sun -Thurs. albeit elsewhere it says Sun-Wed. Either way it was a WEDNESDAY NIGHT . We do believe prices should be about 20% less anyway . The bill arrived & two guests asked about it ’is this with discount?’ We were told ‘that offer finished March ! ‘ Mmmm shouldn't still be on web site, as this is misleading . Our guests took it in good spirit. Paid in full and still gave a good tip . But for future diners . Check first ? But overall a good evening and no food...

My wife booked a table over the phone for 3pm on New Years Day (her birthday) so that We could eat and then go to the cinema at 6pm. We arrived at about quarter to to a closed restaurant. Called the number and spoke to someone who said they weren't open until 5pm so there was no way we could have booked a table for 3pm. The person I spoke to then said they would check and get back to me. When they called back they said that there was no booking in our name at all for that day! Checked wife's phone and can clearly see that she called them on the 21st and spoke to someone.

The person we spoke to said that we must have been mistaken and that they hadn't been at the restaurant much recently due to a bereavement bit no apology or solution offered.

Excellent food, relaxing ambiance and great service. What’s not to like? Don’t be fooled by its modest high street exterior, this restaurant is a big hitter and ticks all the boxes for foodies like us. I cannot speak highly enough of our dining experience. The reviews on Facebook were very impressive so my wife booked a table to celebrate my birthday. This was our first visit - but definitely not our last. Footnote: On arrival, we were offered a complimentary cocktail as it was my birthday but, as I was driving, we declined.
