Mowchak Restaurant — Restaurant in England

Ordered from here every month since it opened with previous owners Mo and current owners. Never had an issue and always correct order. Today made a £38 order asked for 6 poppadoms with extra yoghurt sauce with onions, 2 x shisk kebab starters 2 curry and 2 nann. Simmilar order to every other order we have made. Got home and have 2 small tubs of yoghurt sauce for 6 poppadoms and 2 starters. Phoned to say they had not given the extra paid for yoghurt sauce to be told the 2nd one was the extra one that I paid for. Argued with me that's always been the case, that I only ordered 1 extra sauce. That Yoghurt sauce doesn't come with shisk kebabs, red sauce comes with shisk kebabs. Given 1/2 small pot of red sauce for 2 starters. Never once did they apologise for not communicating this or for asking how many yoghurt sauces were required. Insisted that's what they provide, that they were not wrong and that is what they always provide.we have never had this experience with our many previous orders. No customer service, no attempt to resolve the matter by offering more yoghurt sauce that we could collect , despite me stating our continious regular orders for many years from them. Simple issue that they could have resolved, cutomer service attitude ruined our experience and we won't be using the takeaway service again. Such a shame that your customer service attitude over 25p half filled pots of yoghurt sauce have lost regular loyal...

£5 DELIVERY, NOT £2 THEY ADVERTISE - Beware last-minute delivery charge demands, and astonishingly rude service. Their ‘Just Eat’ profile states £2 delivery / free delivery over £40. However they ring last minute (after waiting an hour already) and demand £5 payment or cancel food. First time they did this, we had to pay driver; 2nd last time, I drove to collect it rather than pay such an extortionate extra (we live 2.9 miles away, so it’s hardly a long distance dropoff). This eve, they rang demanding £5 extra on delivery quite aggressively, I pointed out we’d already paid £2 delivery charge and was about to go collect instead… but the guy started ranting about customers lying and messing him round, I could barely get a word in - totally went off on one, very random! Cancelled order (he hung up on me in the middle of his own rant actually), but had to ring back again to make them process the refund (which they said “wasn’t their problem”!!).

A huge shame as their food is extremely good, and I’ve found service in the restaurant itself to also be very positive. Whoever is handling their deliveries / takeaway side needs some anger management and customer service training. And if they’re gonna charge £5 delivery and / or demand it 45 minutes afterwards as a cash payment, they need to be transparent about it and publish / take the...

A very good Indian Eatery in Hereford.

I’ve eaten at Mowchak many times over the last few years, both in the restaurant and takeaway.

The food has always been of an excellent standard - well cooked and seasoned and generous in portion.

The service has always been excellent. The owner is extremely personable, taking the time to chat and charm and makes it a very welcoming experience. Some of the other waiters could benefit from being a bit more attentive though, as we were waiting to make our order for a while and were not given plates for our poppadum. Food was quick to arrive and all very fresh.

Unfortunately the restaurant has often been quite quiet when I have visited. On the last occasion we were seated near the front and it was very quiet except for the sound of the aircon which made it quite awkward until the music was put on. Previously we have been seated at the back which feels less exposed and it’s great to see the chefs at work and has a lovely atmosphere when more people are in. The restaurant is comfortable and deserves to see more footfall!

Excellent food and largely excellent service. Great portion sizes and value for money with lots of veggie options. Huge credit to the owner who is such a lovely man and to the brilliant kitchen team. Will be...
