Absolutely disgusted with this Nando’s, a real shame to the Nando’s brand. In May, we went here for dinner and after this experience, ended up at McDonalds. We arrived at 20:30, and were told that there might be a wait as there was no space available. We agreed to wait, even though the restaurant looked like it had seating available from the outside. Anyway, we waited for 30 minutes and then were seated. By the way, this was not the first time that we were told this story about waiting, there was another occasion where we were told the same story. I thinks it’s a tactic to turn the customers away as they are approaching closing time! We were seated at around 21:00 and ordered promptly. My partner is diabetic so we were hoping to have been served within a decent amount of time as her blood sugar was dropping fast. At 21:50, our food had still not been served. We went back to the cashier to request a refund so that we could eat elsewhere after waiting for almost an hour. At this point, we noticed that our food was waiting at the collection point for the server to bring to our table. The server hurriedly told us that our food was ready and was approaching the table we were were seated at, we refused the food as it was stone cold and proceeded to request the refund. What the management at this Nando’s is doing in plain sight, is ignoring the customers and proceeding to prepare the restaurant for the next day’s opening. The servers we ALL cleaning and sweeping and arranging chairs at 21:00, even thought closing is at 22:00. Not in the least bothered about the customers on site! They should make it clear to customer that even though they shut at 22:00, the last seating is technically at 20:00. Because they spend the last 2 hours of the evening faffing about and cleaning, completely ignoring the customers. We watched as the server spent so much time emptying one bottle of sauce into the other over and over again while everyone’s food stood at the collection point getting cold. The couple next to us with children who arrived before us also requested a refund due to being served cold food! That was not the end, as we paid with Apple Pay, they were unable to issue the refund on site, we had to complete a form for a refund that would have been issued within 5 to 10 working days. Despite contacting the customer service team on various occasions, we have still not received the refund! It is now almost 2 months later and no refund. Read moreWorst place to be… I dont even want to give any stars to this place as I used to like Nandos but not anymore. I went there in 31st dec around 20:45 and we ordered chicken as Nandos do that. We were 4 of us and we waited for it. We asked the guy to check our order as we were waiting for nearly 45 mins. The guy with the beard went to check it and said our ticket got lost and as it was a large order we placed there is no chicken left. We were really shocked as everyone else were being served their food and we asians were waiting for ours. The guy said he will give us the refund and bring whatever is left over as we waited for a while. He said he will check with the manager whose name is Ramune. She came over after 5-8 mins later saying the guy cannot decide what he can do as she is the manager. She was happy for us to leave considering it was an hour while we waited for food. She said she was really busy to notice anything but the restaurant was not busy at all As most of the spaces was empty. She came and just said sorry that ticket got lost. All she can do is either offer a refund and we can go somewhere else to eat but everywhere is shut as it was 10pm already.Or she will not give us a refund but bring whatever is leftover and asked us to eat that. Firstly we are not beggars, we paid money for a decent food not to eat leftovers. Secondly Ramune did not even try to say we could order something else. It was either refund and leave the place or eat the leftovers. Everyone around us were being served food while we were not even given anything and just asked to leave. We visited Nandos in the Marina just before Christmas when the COVID rules were a little more relaxed and were relatively impressed with the social distancing guidelines in place.
We used the track and trace system and it wasn't long before we could enter the restaurant for our reservation (we had to wait outside in our car until we received the notification on our phone). We got seated and were told we could remove our masks – however we would have to put them on to go to the bathroom, or leave the restaurant, which is fair enough and helps to keep things safe.
We had to order and pay through our mobiles using a QR code. We were a table of 4 so it took a long time for everybody to look through the menu on the same phone and place there order. When we eventually did place our order, and pay – it took around 40 minutes for our food to come. When we asked the waiter why it took so long they mentioned that our order didn't reach their till system properly and it was only when we queried how much longer our food would be that they realised it was there.
When the food arrived it was hot and delicious, typical Nandos style, you literally couldn't fault it. To be fair to the restaurant they did compensate us for the long wait by offering us a free dessert which of course we didn't turn down.
Overall we enjoyed our visit and would visit again when things are back to normal!
