"Last Thursday, my friend and I had the pleasure of dining at New Shipa Restaurant in Gillingham to celebrate Eid, and what an extraordinary experience it was! From the moment we stepped in, we were warmly greeted and immediately immersed in the inviting ambiance.

The highlight of our evening was undoubtedly the Mix Charli dish, a tantalizing blend of spicy Madras with the chef's expertly grilled Tandoori chicken strips and succulent lamb tikka, all complemented by a mouthwatering sauce that left us craving for more. Additionally, the caramelized crispy potatoes added a delightful crunch to our meal, while the Chicken Biryani and butter naan were simply divine.

This is one heck of an eatery! We travelled down to Gillingham for a social the next day and having checked into our hotel went looking for an Indian restaurant for a meal.

We googled and up came New Shipa right at the top of the list so naturally we thought we'd give it a try.

We found the place and on first sight thought this looks like just any other Indian restaurant. Little did we know. Its a nondescript place. Very beige but boy o boy were we mistaken.

Ordinary does not do this place any justice. It may look ordinary but the food was fantastic. Delicious pieces of lamb in a hot sauce for starters followed by a mixed Biriyani (not on the menu so you'll need to ask).

My wife had the magic mushrooms (no, not those, silly 😋), mushroom stuffed with a meat mix and fried in a breadcrumb batter (very delicious!!) followed by a lamb biriyani.

Its no wonder the restaurant has Bern around for 32 years. Good in them. We'd bevback again and again if only we...

A group of 4 of us ate in at this restaurant on a Sunday night for the first time. It was very quiet, only one other table. The food was great, very tasty and we didn't wait long at all. The prices were what you would expect from a usual Indian restaurant. The only negatives would be the decor is very dated but you're there for the food so not really a big issue. Will definitely...
