I've been coming here for over a decade now so I am probably a bit biased by this point but it really is a gem of a place and worthy of your custom.
The coffees are exceptional. There are two different beans for espresso coffees on constant rotation, one for batch brew and one for pour over. I'm no tasting expert, but this keeps each visit interesting and varied. The baristas are meticulous and every drink is crafted to perfection. The teas are also excellent, with a wide variety available. The hot chocolates come in a range of different intensities (milk, dark, somewhere in between and white) and are always rich and delicious.
The cakes and sandwiches are homemade with locally sourced ingredients and are exceptionally delicious, and if you're early enough to arrive shortly after opening, then there is a warm pastel de nata waiting for you (along with other pastries, chunky toast, etc).
The staff are always warm and friendly and it is clear that Bean and Bud has many regular visitors. The best endorsement I can give is that after all this time, Bean and Bud is still my family's go-to place for a coffee and a catch up.
It is a real mark of a place that after over a decade, a change in ownership, and a pandemic, that a place like this can still be going strong, all while keeping true to its original ideals. Harrogate may be a town full of tea shops, but we are much the richer for...

But the real attractive point is the espresso options: whether youâre going for the deep, berry-sweet Costa Rican or the bright, peachy freshness of the Ethiopian, thereâs something we can try. They also have a filter selection of coffee beans and decaf.
Buttery and flaky, with a rich almond filling that isnât overly sweet, it balances out the sharp espresso flavors, creating a comforting balance.
Itâs the kind of place that brings together quality, warmth, and a bit of a twist. A visit here is a must for any coffee enthusiast looking for both consistency and innovation.

Read moreNo question its nice coffee, but my oh my, ÂŁ3.40 for a Latte, ridiculous. Not as welcoming as it once was I'm afraid, felt like we were walking into a Library not a coffee shopđ
Further to the rey from Bean and Bud.....
I am VERY aware of the quality of the coffee as been coming to Bean since Ruth opened many years ago, although not been for a couple of years. No, my view was NOT coloured by the price, as, thankfully, I didn't pay and was unaware of the price until my friend mentioned it after we left. And agree or not, and it's just our opinion, the welcome we received on Monday, was not what we expected. We felt unwelcome, and nobody can tell us how we feel, only us. I know my coffee, as you guys do, and the quality is not in question or up for debate. The cost is. There are many (very good) Artisan coffee establishment in Harrogate. This is one. Again weather it is the best, up for debate, value wise, in my opinion,...
