The Orchard Café is a gem located within a short walking distance of the main part of Shrewsbury town centre.
Be sure to check the 'specials' blackboard as the food changes on a daily basis and the service is provided with pride.
On offer is healthy, freshly-prepared, served extremely promptly and the intention of the staff is quite clearly that they hope you are going to return.
The range of homemade cakes is quite exceptional and it's considered no problem to take them away in a box for later (as I often do).
Regulars are always acknowledged and welcomed, groups and external catering (e.g. weddings) is also available and special exceptions are never a problem (for example, they kindly permit us to play board games at the larger tables).
The Orchard may bceome busy during peak hours (lunchtimes or popular Shrewsbury town events) and the establishment has a committed relationship with Shrewsbury's Sabrina boat trips, providing afternoon teas for such clients.
Car parking is provided by the neighbouring Shrewsbury Cathedral and might be a little overloaded during church service times but, if in difficulty, speak with the café staff and they will do everything in their power to make sure you can drive in or out.

I bought my own lunch and just needed a small place to sit down and eat for 5,10 mins. The cafe was more or less empty and there was plenty of seating available. I had some people with the church and was told I could sit and eat in the cafe as the cafe is associated with the church too.
The lady at the counter starting giving sarcastic remarks. "It's not a pub. You can't just bring your own beer and start drinking it". Like, this is not Weatherspoons or Toby Carvery.

The staff of Sandra and her team were just lovely and so kind at a time then there were so many grieving families after his funeral. The food is all handmade and it was delicious. So fresh and so much variety. Sandra put out fresh flowers and set up the venue perfectly for us and 70 of our guests. They are professionals in every aspect and we couldn't recommend more highly.
