What an absolute oasis tucked away in quiet little springbourne.
Me and my partner have eaten here a fair few times now, as a generous treat to ourselves. The atmosphere is so warm and cosy it feels like home, while the staff (who i believe to be just the modest 2, whom i think are husband and wife) do an excellent job contending to our every satisfaction. Nothing is at all too much for them.
Their drinks are gorgeous, some of which are homemade. Their lemonade, milkshakes and their Hot Chocolate is absolutely goldon and we both respect and appreciate the extra mile these two go to to prepare these drinks.
Their food has absolutely never disappointed and yet often surprises us. They even put a loving touch of their home, a hungarian twist to a lot of their dishes (and their drinks). My favourite so far being their Hungarian Bacon.
And yet, amongst their enthusiasm and faultless service, they always seem to be quiet, and cosy. Which also allows for a hint of intimacy between our meals, often supported by a cute little candlelight.
We now, even have a couple of Paprika branded pens, which is not only really sweet but we love stationary anyway, and one has a neat little light and the other a little stylus.
This place deserves so much more credit and love than their quiet evenings reflect. I would recommend this...
Read moreWe revisited on a day of the eat out scheme by the government. Unfortunately our experience wasn't as good as before. They were obviously way out of their debt. I wish they would've said they were fully booked. We had to wait for our table for about 15-20 minutes which wasn't really an issue, however...the owners looked very exhausted, which jeopardized the whole experience completely. It was the four of us. Two starters came out in 20 minutes, then had to chase up the other two which were forgotten I believe and took ages. The pea soup couldn't have been more tasteless. The Gulyàs was nice. My main looked like it came out from a school canteen. Some rice and a piece of meat on top with bacon fat. No decoration/garnish no presentation whatsoever. As a restaurant you should present the dish appetising, customers eat with their eyes first. Also had to chase up my side order which is traditionally cucumber marinated in vinegar, sugar salt and pepper with sour cream and a sprinkle of paprika. Mine was obviously freshly sliced cucumber with a splash of sour cream on top and some paprika, again tasteless. Overall I really wish they served less tables and do a better job at it rather than taking as much as possible and people won't be returning. Unfortunately we won't be coming back. Please take this as a constructive...
Read moreAll the food we tried was absolutely amazing!!! For starters we shared goulash with beans, for mains we had a sharing platter where we chose breaded cheese, cordon bleu and pork with some salad, fries and buttered potatoes with parsley, for dessert we had somloi galuska ( I hope that's the right way to write it). I don't usually write reviews but all this food felt like it was made by my mom/grandma, all home made and soooooooooooooooooooooo delicious. Honestly if you like central/eastern european kitchen this is definitely the place to go ASAP. Our visit was postponed for about 2 or 3 years for different reasons and that was the biggest mistake. We almost stopped going to the restaurants as we are fed up with the quality of food in most of the places but here you get quality for a great price, cheaper than most of the restaurants in Bournemouth and taste and quality much better and higher than what you get anywhere else around. We visited it on Wednesday evening and there was another table when we arrived but for most of our stay we were there alone and I believe this is a mistake, this place should be full and buzzing, they honestly deserve it!!! If you love good food, honest and nice service book yourself in, we are going to come back again soon!
Thanks for great food...
