Visited yesterday evening and personally absolutely blown away by this hidden gem.
The steakhouse has been in business for over 40 years and the premises reflect exactly. Old photographs adorn the walls, the interior décor transports you back and reminds you this is a family run business and the warmth that carries. It adds to the charm and overall experience DO NOT let looks deceive you.
I didn't catch the name of our host but he was hands down the best front of house / serving staff i have experienced. Attentive, kind, comedic and had an overall warm theatrical flair that you do not get in dining locations today, we felt properly looked after. You can even view the cuts of meat in their fridge near the bar before you order.
And what's more, there was genuine excitement to share what was on the menu with detailed knowledge of ingredients and preparations ( if you have room for the raspberry lemon meringue its a no brainer ) It is clear there is a huge amount of passion for what the Steakhouse is serving up and rightly so because the "Steak Trio" should be your go to order. Competitively and honestly priced and cooked to absolute perfection! Tender & juicy, full of flavour. basically putting the cuts of meat front and centre, the quality speaks for itself.
The Bournemouth Steakhouse KNOW their craft and they know it very well, please do go and give them a try you will NOT be disappointed, absolutely will...

Yet, I gave this place a five star for the value for money, locality, and the super friendly staff.
The food are incredibly reasonably priced given how the general environment has been, I paid 40 pounds for those three steaks (steak trio on the menu) and it is perfectly enough for two to share if not too much. I would say this is very well priced even before the inflation and everything. The food quality is alright, not the best I've had but far from anything to the bad spectrum. The steaks were all rightly grilled and remained juicy. The flavour was good enough and might work best with a bit of salt, but they offer four types of mustard so you will find your choice.
People are saying it is a family run place, I cannot confirm that, but they do give a very warm neighborhood/family vibe in the place. They are very caring and service are definitely on point. Chatty staff to give you that welcoming feeling.
This is a very distinct old fashioned steakhouse that is getting increasingly rare and I recommend it definitely for the dining experience, if I'm rating it by food quality only, it would most likely be...
Read moreAfter reading the highly complimentary reviews I was expecting something special. Unfortunately after experiencing the restaurant and food I cannot agree with the majority of reviews..... I will try to be as constructive as possible: The decor of restaurant really needs updating and refreshed up. The restaurant was cold, there was no heating and it was very cold outside. The salad served with the meal was the most basic I have ever had, and had far too much salad dressing. People should be given the option to choose salad dressing and how much. The onion rings were very nice Only one steak sauce flavour was provided per table. I thought the steak was good but my Wife and Mother thought it lacked flavour. I was shocked to see the desserts trolley was uncovered and placed outside the gents toilets - this was unforgivable seeing there was an empty dessert cabinet in the centre of the restaurant - needless to say we did not...
