This was my first time at Pasco's in Cottingham and it won't be my last. As soon as we entered the restaurant the servers where extremely friendly, funny, and hospitable. Nothing was too much and happiness radiated from them with an addictive vibe. I ordered the antipasti plate as my starter, which was a selection of meats with bruschetta and chopped tomatoes. The meats were a little oily, but I understand that is the traditional way, and the bruschetta was to die for. When mixed together in one mouthful it was an explosion of taste... Juicy fresh tomatoes, the bite of garlic, the crunch of bruschetta and the smooth texture of the meat. Excellent starter, highly recommended. For my main I had a dish off of the specials board which was filet steak, in peppercorn sauce, with potatoes and vegetables. The vegetable came to share with the other guest on the table and it included Brussels, green beans, carrots and onions (unfortunately I didn't get a picture quick enough). The steak was cooked perfectly to medium rare and the texture melted in my mouth like every good steak should. 100% perfect. The peppercorn sauce was creamy and also had the perfect bite of pepper. The potatoes were roasted to perfection. Also, a delicious bottle of wine, served very professionally topped off the whole meal. We had a party of 3 and everyone had a starter, a main and we ordered two beers and a bottle of wine. The total was £80 and it was worth every penny. The only downside was the noise as the walls bounced it off from every direction with the room being an open space. But you can't complain too much because it's expected for such a popular restaurant, and good on them to fill up with so many people. I hear every night is extremely full and we have previously tried to walk in another time to find that they had no tables available unless we waited quite a while. So make sure you reserve a table in advance so you don't end up disappointed. You won't regret it! Best restaurant in...

Been here a few times for events and just a meal out. On this occasion we had my daughters 21st here, we also had her 18th here too. As always, food and the service was amazing including a thrown in desert for my daughter which was nice and a happy birthday sang to her by the waitress who is always lovely.

Unfortunately we was left feeling pressured and very awkward thanks to the oldest member of staff. Usually we would leave a tip freely but on this occasion we was put into a very awkward position by the member of staff who I think was in charge. He told us to leave a tip if we want to or if we wasn't happy with the service then don't leave one. It was not just those few words but he did go on about it a fair bit making all 6 of us feeling very awkward. When did we go american and have to leave tips everywhere to make up waiters/waitresses money??

Maybe if you paid your staff more you wouldn't need to make people feel pressured and uncomfortable into leaving one.... Because of which, the £15 tip we was going to leave ended up back in my wallet.

If it wasn't for that, it'd be 5 stars and the lovely woman that served us would of been £15 up. Felt that awkward, won't be...

Regularly visit, all the staff are incredibly warm and welcoming, the food is incredible and at a great reasonable price (pub food prices yet Micheline star quality, and very large portions)

I'm still not sure how they do it; can be busy, yet spaced out nicely so you don't feel cramped. Going back to the staff, they're very well mannered and very friendly and talented. When I asked for a "surprise coffee" I was brought a coffee, and he made the cream into a bear face upfront of me, which I'll be honest did surprise me.

Parking is easy, very family friendly, service times are very quick, quiet background music and the room temperature is always good. Specials change regularly and are always great.

Best of all, the deserts. all set price and super big, very large and they have a few classics that stay and bring new ones in now and again, but they're so good there's no need to change I've had the same one at least 15+ times..😶 They bring you a plate with them all on and show/explain what they are.

Will be going again...

I’ve been to pascos many times before and never had it been this appalling. They kept letting more and more people in even though there was obviously no room for anyone else and they couldn’t keep up with the amount of people in there to begin with. We waited an hour and a half for service and even then they forgot my mothers order so she had to wait an extra half an hour after the rest of the table had been served. Food was burnt and of bad quality My parents calzones were burnt yet cold in the middle and my pizza was burnt all over and underneath i had to eat from the middle and just hope for the best. Will not be returning! Had to confront waitress about the service and got rude response about how another table ordered first… they didn’t. Overall just appealing behaviour. They gave us the evening menu at 1pm which is way more expensive until we asked for a lunch menu. At one point the waitress came out and even pointed out the badly shaped pizza she was handing a member of my family. Absolutely appalling.

I went to Pasco's in Cottingham not expecting much, as I'd previously been to the branch on St Andrews quay, where the waiter told us there was only one vegan dish available, and no starters, and no desserts. And we got the impression he didn't really want to be there BUT... The Cottingham branch was brilliant! The waitress was lovely and couldn't have been more helpful. She knew they had a full seperate vegan menu and quickly brought us it. I had the pea and asparagus risotto, which was heavenly!!! My mum had the pasta dish which she said was delicious. We also had cocktails that were 2 for 1 and very yummy. The desserts were also great, cookies and cream gateau and salted caramel brownies. We will definitely be returning to the Cottingham branch!

(Visited May 2024) We came here for my Mam’s birthday: one of the reasons for this is that she received a voucher offering a free birthday meal. In reality, it’s Ā£10 off a dish. This didn’t impress me. I opted for the Tortellini al Salmone, which was reasonable. Service was attentive. -- (Visited Sep 2021) My family came here to try it, as we’d heard good things. I indulged in a sweet cocktail- something along the lines of a Purple Rain. As for food, I fancied something a little different and so went for the Anatra al Mango (duck with mango chutney sauce). Presentation-wise, it was a bit sloppy, but tasted very good.
