Platters — Restaurant in England

My good friend Leslie (aged 89) loves Platters. It's his favourite place for lunch and he took me there when I came to visit him from Swindon. What a lovely place! The food is fresh, for someone currently on a strict diet who can't have much I was so pleased that when asking for a salad they gave me a large plate with thick slices of good quality ham, beetroot, onions, peppers, tomatoes, eggs, lettuce, cucumber and carrot. Leslie always gets his 'usual' including the biggest jacket potato I have ever seen, chips, chilli, coleslaw, salad. We were busy eating for 40 minutes straight! Delicious food, large portions in a friendly atmosphere and a 5-star hygiene rating.

Whilst we were there there was a constant stream of customers in and out for eat in and takeaway orders so clearly very popular with locals (always a good sign)

We had a tuna melt and a bacon and cheese melt, a tea and a hot chocolate. The food was fresh, well cooked, not greasy, prompt friendly service and such good portion sizes for the money.
