My son bought us a very expensive takeaway tonight as a treat, but it was awful. The mixed seafood curry smelt so strongly of fish we didn’t eat it for fear it wasn’t fresh. The lemon rice was inedible lots of bitter things in it and too much lemon, onion bhajis stoggy & floury Prawn Jalfrezi which is supposed to be very spicy was mild With 6 overcooked prawns & masses of onions and peppers. The potato dish Pretty tasteless, Poppadoms were slight burnt, the dips to go with them bright pink and green! Such a waste of hard earned money. Thank goodness we are going back to Kent tomorrow and can order from our excellent regular Indian takeaway

We went here early in the evening and were seated straight away, a table for 2 in the window without reservations. The service was okay but not outstanding. The food was less than impressive, we were from out of town so maybe we are used to the Indian restaurants in the Midlands that are better value for money and have a far deeper flavour to them and seem to be fresher ingredients as our dishes seemed a little musty if that makes sense. The reason for my previous comment is that as we sat eating a steady stream of people came in and some were greeted like friends . I always say make your own minds up as everyone's tastes are different.

Amazing Food! Will be back for many more visits! **Updated Review:: Went back again recently (21st October 2023) and despite other recent reviews from others we once again found the waiters very welcoming, friendly, helpful and the food was piping hot and delicious! Meal including poppadoms, pickles, side dishes and the main)plus four drinks (all alcohol) including 2 Sambuca shots was only £62! Plus the Lit Rain water feature at the back is very cool too. The best Indian restaurant in Dorchester (and better than Bournemouth ones hands down)

Called the restaurant to ask if they will allow a table for 2 at 9:45pm, they said yes. Once arrived at the restaurant the waiter seemed annoyed that we got there, even though it says they close at 11pm. Went to sit us down and told us we have to order immediately as they are closing. If that's the case why could they not just tell us over the phone not to come. So we ordered, and then a fight started in the kitchen between the staff, we could hear everything due to the silence as they turned the music off and their excuse was they didn't know how to turn it back on. After I got up to ask the waiter I don't want them to be upset because we are here so we will leave, which he then replied it was fine take a seat food is nearly ready. He finally gave us our drinks (mango lassi) which tasted sour and gone off. Then the fight started again and this time sounded like someone was chasing the chef around with tools ( lots of clanging and banging until the voices faded) so he must have been chased out the back. Just imagining the state of our food with all that spit from the screaming and if it would even be cooked right we got up and told the waiter we can't take this anymore. I highly do not...

We were out for dinner last night with friends & family at the Rajpoot. Our table was booked for 8pm. Firstly, our table was not ready at this time, we were initially ok about this and didn’t mind waiting providing we could have a drink. We ordered drinks. It took them 20 minutes to serve us drinks!! While we stood in the lobby. No one asked us if we would like to look at menus while we waited!! We had to ask!! We didn’t get seated to our table until 8.40pm!! We then waited a further 25 minutes to get some poppodoms!! Still no food order taken. We didn’t actually get our main course until 10.05pm!! We have never experienced such bad service EVER!! It was bloody awful. We would’ve walked out but it was a birthday meal and family had travelled to see us! It would’ve been quicker to have ordered a take away from another Indian restaurant and had it delivered to our table. The food was nothing special either. All in all a terrible experience and we will let others know to avoid the place. No apology and full price charge!! Absolute joke!! Everyone in the restaurant had the same experience as we conversed with other tables about...

Disappointed New Year’s Eve meal. Unfriendly greeting on arrival, and we were seated in a part of the restaurant outside the main dining room which had no atmosphere. We felt as if we were in a corridor, staff and guests constantly entering and exiting just behind us so we had a draft the whole time.

Our first waiter barely spoke to take our order. We felt the menu was fairly limited and the food turned out to be a bit bland and both the chicken and the lamb a little tough.

Despite having booked a table, we were asked to finish our drinks in the bar as there were others waiting for a table. We had only been there 50 minutes, and the bar was more of a waiting room for the takeaways - there were no seats available. We ended up downing our drinks and paying, effectively we were asked, albeit politely, to leave so they could have the table back.

Overall a disappointing experience and I...
