What a lovely little cafe on the High Street. The staff were so friendly and falling over themselves to be welcoming and accommodating, cleaning and sanitising the table best distanced from other guests. The food was freshly prepared and delicious especially the home made gluten free carrot cake. We will certainly make it a regular stop.

A great cafe, lovely traditional British food, amazing cake and awesome service all for a fair price Their was a nice local feel with a really welcoming feel. I highly recommend The Horse With The Red Umbrella. I will be back.

Lovely old fashioned tea house! The staff are lovely, the food is fantastic and it's a lovely quaint building. The prices are fair and great for what you get; fresh tasty food... My favourite Dorchester cake shop!

We stumbled across the beautiful cafe today, whilst looking for a bite to eat out of the rain and aren't we so glad we visited. The cafe is wonderfully clean and the gentleman I assume maybe the owner was so genuine and accommodating it was a thoroughly lovely experience. We only had sandwiches today as we were looking for a small bite to eat but these must have been the best we've had in ages, all ingredients you could taste were fresh and local and as for the bread more like bloomer bread I can't wait to have another one or maybe even try there breakfast... Oh and definitely buy some more traditional Lardy cake to take home which was to die for.My husband and I both agree we will come out of our way to visit and support this small special business. Highly recommended...

Disappointing breakfast here today. I ordered the smoked haddock, 2 poached eggs, and 1 x toast. My wife ordered 2 x bacon, 1 x sausage, and 2 x poached eggs with 1 toast. The portion of haddock was tiny and cooked within an inch of its life. Instead of being lite and flacky, it was solid. Served in a soup bowl with the two eggs, it was swimming in a watery yellow liquid. My wife discovered that her pork sausage was still pink throughout, and when I sent my haddock back, we pointed this out to the lovely waitress. She said she would tell the kitchen. She replaced my haddock dish with the same as my wife had ordered and, guess what, another undercooked sausage. It's sad because we have wanted to try this café for ages but it's...

Really nice.. Like an old fashioned tea room atmosphere.. Friendly , cosy , nice home cooked food and incredibly good value. I had been here years ago and remembered how nice it was , so when we passed through we made a point to stop by. I am so glad this place is still going. I was worried it would of suffered due to the pandemic. But it was just as alive and lovely as I remember. I wish more places like this existed but sadly they are a dying breed. We went for lunch and took dessert home. Be it a coffee and cake , meet a friend, lunch stop or just come and enjoy the food and atmosphere, definitely worth a go. A hidden gem. Thanks to all the staff for lovely food...
