Pros: Friendly guy who I assume was the manager (warm greeting as we arrived and left) Decor and atmosphere nicer than a lot of cheap greasy spoons -good location right in the centre of town drinks and food came very quickly, and the waiter happily brought us a spare plate for our 2 year old pot of tea for 2 was a decent size (enough for two cups each)
Cons: we didn’t feel it was good value for money (just shy of £11 for each breakfast, so for that price we’d either expect for there to be more items and with everything included, such as mushrooms, tomatoes & black pudding, or for the quality of the ingredients to be better) cheap ingredients (e.g. equivalent of Tesco value own brand sausages & bacon) and some items had a bit of funny taste, like they’d been cooked in really old oil, the hash browns had black bits on, suggesting the oil wasn’t clean, etc. not table service (not sure why, as there weren’t many people in there), and the waiter didn’t smile or exude warmth/friendliness
Wouldn’t rush back, but might give it another go, to see if the experience improves at...
Read moreWalked in today as a group of six, hard two tables and placed an order. Three of our group were kids, that ordered apple juice whilst the adults got hot drinks. When he brought the drinks out on a tray, he just left it on one table and walked off.
On his return with the food, we told him that the other drinks were for the different table and his reply was "oh, so you expect me to move those drinks to that table?" 🤦🏾♂️
A mature and humble gentleman that was serving food in there brought apple juice to a table that was sitting next to us, but managed to bring straws for those drinks so that the kids on that table could enjoy their drinks.
It's the little things in a place that make all the difference. I understand that it was busy and the cafe was short staffed, but it's those little things that would make me not want to visit this place again. The rest of the staff were brilliant and the food was okay, but the only thing that we spoke about when we left the cafe was of the waiter so unfortunately it's...
Read moreWe were visiting Salisbury for the day and stumbled across this place for Brunch. Our greeting was friendly enough and we were escorted to a table. We were given menus and that’s about it. We waited for over 15 minutes before we left as we had been ignored by at least 4 members of staff when we clearly indicated to them we were ready to order. The place wasn’t even that busy. We also heard some other customers commenting on how their breakfasts weren’t overly warm so thankfully we made a lucky escape we think. Such as shame because the pictures on the walls were interesting to look at and read about but if we wanted to do that we’d have gone to an art gallery!
If you do visit this place, don’t sit at the back as you...
