I recently visited your venue with some friends. Despite being 26 years old, I was denied the purchase of alcohol because staff claimed that my BRP card had expired. However, I showed official updates indicating that the validity of the card had been extended until June. Regardless, this information was completely ignored. Even if the card had been expired (which it wasn’t), the date of birth printed on it is a fixed and verifiable detail that doesn’t change. To add to the frustration, the very next day I went to London and used the exact same BRP card to purchase alcohol at multiple places, including entering a nightclub—without any issues. This proves that your staff made a baseless and unfair decision. Also, when I came to this place with my boyfriend a month ago, I bought alcohol with my SAME BRP card???? What made the experience even worse was being approached and rudely asked to leave the table simply because I held my friend’s wine glass for a photo. I didn’t even drink from it. The tone and attitude of the two women working at your venue were unnecessarily aggressive and disrespectful. Their behavior completely ruined what should have been a pleasant day. This kind of customer treatment is unacceptable. I do not feel welcomed or respected in your establishment, and I hold the two female staff members responsible for this experience. Their attitude seemed deliberately spiteful and unprofessional. I will not be returning to your venue as long as these two employees continue to work there. Also, I saw that you mentioned about we don’t have any id? It’s a lie! We all have our Id cards and we’re all between 24-26 years old.. My friends showed their id’s and had their alcohols. I only had my BRP and university card with me and I couldn’t buy alcohol because of your rude staff… Also I think they’re liar… Also, you should check the validity dates for BRP cards in an OFFICIAL website of UK. They extended cards until June and it’s an official new, it’s not a subjective info that you don’t accept! Also, if you are so committed to the rules, why couldn't you understand the BRP card period extended by the UK government? My birth date is not an changeable information and it’s not important the expiry date of the brp card because I’m not trying to work with you! I came to UK with my BRP card and this country allow me with the SAME brp card but I couldn’t have a drink in your place. It’s like...
Read moreI've read other reviews and wonder what has gone so dreadfully wrong. We had lunch in the garden on Friday. Four adults and four small children. To start we were directed to the toilets on the top floor with the children, there were no changing facilities for the little one's and we ended up changing them on the grass in the garden. The entrance to both toilets are in very close proximity to one another and the smell that emerges from the Gents toilet when the door opens leaves a lot to be desired. There should be no reason for them to smell that bad! Takes me back to the old 'dirty urinal' days. Not good for a pub that is serving food. We ordered and paid for the children's food first and no complaints, it was fine but when the Kofta Open Sandwich arrived, it was a different story. It was two pieces of regular toasted bread, made very soggy by a very runny mashed sweet potato, covered with soggy veg and rocket chucked on the top. Very un-appetizing, very soggy & very cold. Inedible! The Rosemary Chips were dry and didn't taste of anything except potato. Fair play, they gave a full refund without question but they had no Plant Based Bowls to offer so they really need to up their game with the increasing number of punters wanting meat alternatives. Sorry Bishops Mill - we won't be back for...
Read moreMeh. OK, so this is in response to the venue (a pub in Salisbury - made famous by the Novichok incident in case you recognised the name) response.
I think my 3 stars and comment is accurate. It's very "OK" at best. Not unpleasant, just nothing to write home about. Nothing special at all. We went in as we were on a stroll around the town and just wanted a tea and a coffee. Asked for cream for the coffee and was told , almost incredulously "we don't have any cream" with the tone being quite condescending as if to say "this is a pub mate." delivered with a "humph". I had a tea and asked for a mug, not the washing up bowl sized ridiculous soup bowls that see the current fashion to be told "That's all we got". Maybe a word with the staff to be a bit more can-do wouldn't go amiss. Didn't get much of a warm feeling about the place. Whatever attitude your staff have, leave it at the door when you start work. It's a professional environment. Like I say, not "bad" and everything was "ok" but that's just the point. "ok" isn't good enough, not when there are so many others to consider in the local area. Even the Wetherspoons opposite gave a better experience IMHO. Still think three stars isn't good enough? I guess I could go to 3 -and-a-quarter, but you need to sort out the above...
