I only ever write positive reviews as a rule. Today is that unfortunate exception! We arrived at 3.10 on a Saturday afternoon: a family group of 8 adults and 1 baby, having noted that the shop was open till 4pm. We were greeted with “we shut at 4pm!” by the male staff member. His manner was consistently brusque and unwelcoming from then on. Of course we could have opted out at this point, but we decided to persist. The coffee and cake was actually good: no complaints. We spent £46. When I asked for a glass of tap water I was told by the equally surly waitress that we only sell water in a bottle. Perhaps we caught them on a bad day? Perhaps they were tired? I’m trying to be understanding with a customer service experience that really was poor and manner and attitude that was rude and inhospitable. Hopefully it was just a one off. But don’t worry, I don’t expect to be coming back anytime...
Read moreFriendly and knowledgeable service with a wide selection of foods and drinks. My partner and I popped in on the way home to Scotland from a trip down south to grab a coffee and a bite to eat. There wasn’t much open in the town as it was a Sunday but this little gem luckily was! We were greeted with a friendly face when we walked in and our options (including all the coffee syrups that we struggled to choose from!) were explained to us to help us choose. They did not have the exact syrup I was after but were able to advise what would be the closest match. The wide selection of food and sweet treats meant that even the fussiest of eaters like myself had a lot of options! The food was amazing! Such a lovely little place to sit and relax while you enjoy some tasty food! Definitely recommend and will visit again when...

Was shocked to be told it was not their policy to provide water and my choice was to buy a bottle or fill a container. I didn’t have my refillable bottle, which I pointed out, so was told again that it was the policy of the cafe not to provide water from the tap. I don’t drink alcohol and don’t like fizzy drinks so I regularly choose tap water when out for food. This is the first time I’ve ever been refused....
