We came in as part of a group booking. Cold building so make sure you have some light layers on. To be honest it felt like the priority of most of the staff was watching the football. After it took so long to get our order taken we then got to enjoy watching half the kitchen staff stand on the stairs and watch the football....wondering where our food was and why it was taking so long was not difficult to figure out! One of the bar staff and a couple of waitresses were decent. We had to pester to have our order taken, we had to pester them several times to get the bill which had an enormous overcharge on it! Why are you writing bills out by hand?! It isn't that expensive to rent/buy a POS system to simplify paying! We just wanted to pay and leave and felt like we were waiting for the football to end before they would bother! None of us will be rushing back here after fairly mediocre food, a lack of attentiveness and then after finally receiving the bill it having an extra £100 appear...
Read moreIf you're craving authentic Indian cuisine, steer clear of Indian Plaza in Penrith. Despite the seemingly enticing menu, what awaited us was a culinary disaster. The chicken we were served tasted suspiciously old, as if it had been lingering far too long in the back of the fridge.
The vegetable curries were an abomination; instead of the bold, aromatic flavors one expects from Indian dishes, we were met with a sickly sweetness that felt more like a dessert than a savory meal.
It wasn’t until after we suffered through the meal that we discovered this establishment is actually Bangladeshi. Perhaps that explains the disconnect between what we expected and what we endured.
After the meal, we found ourselves staring at a heap of leftovers, contemplating the best method of disposal. A true shame, given how much we paid for this culinary nightmare. Save your money and your taste buds—look elsewhere for a genuine Indian dining experience. Consider this a warning: Indian...
Read moreWe went there as a group of 4 and I can honestly say that this is probably the worst experience eIve ever had in an indian restaurent. The waitress didn't know about the menu at all when we asked her questions regarding the starters. The starters arrived and it was obvious that the Seekh kebab was from a packet and had been heated up and the samosa was also the exact same. The main meal was appalling in that all the dishes looked the same using the same red dye for food to make the dishes look appealing. To top it if when we asked for a change of drinks from a pint to gin & tonic - the waiter replied that they had Gordons and a blue bottle! Im used to eating in Manchester and London and this restaurent and the owners fall way below any of the standards set by other restaurants. Overall probably the worst meal Ive ever had in a restaurent and unfortunately they are fooling other customers. Very poor quality of food and service and I...
