Really lovely building and decorated fantastically inside! Medieval themed to the point the staff are even dressed up! There's two floors with tonnes of seats however they are a tight squeeze. 6 of us went on Saturday night and it was really tight with barely any room to move on the table. We would have preferred being seated at a bigger table for comfort of ease. The staff overall were really friendly and knowledgeable. The menu choice isn't very big but a decent range overall although only one vegetarian option (spicy bean burger) we had jalapeno poppers to start which were a very generous size and scorching hot, really tasty! The wedges and blue cheese dip were also chosen, the dip was really tiny though so we asked for another one. We all had a rack of ribs and chicken in the rough for our mains. The BBQ ribs were absolutely delicious! Thick meat, drenched in a really flavoursome BBQ sauce. Highly recommend them! The chicken in the rough though, was exactly that. It looked overcooked and was really dry. Literally needed a sip of drink with every mouthful just to get it down. Wouldn't recommend that unfortunately. Due to the staff being a man down in the kitchen, we had to wait an hour between starters and mains which we know couldn't be helped but because it was so busy in there, we were sat squeezed together, it got pretty hot and uncomfortable pretty quickly. The mead was a nice experience to try, the strawberry flavor was very sickly but the BlackBerry flavor was lush. You can mix it with lemonade if it's too strong. They also provide a small salad bar which had a nice selection of food. I'd recommend sharing one between two of you as the dish size again is generous. Overall it was a really cool experience and I'd definately recommend visiting but avoid the chicken!

I have never been on a date in my life;- and my boyfriend and I decided to take a look at the Meadry for our first date. Admiring the aesthetics and design, we took the risk and went in. A charming young man known as Ade welcomed us and brought us to our seat, filled with smiles and a charming attitude and the utmost respect. Then, we were served by a lovely lady known as Kim, who I assume is the manager, supervisor, or simply someone incharge; if not, she should be. And finally, we were helped and served throughout our meals there by the friendly and chirpy Tilia. My partner took the menus and admired them, opening it up and slamming it down, in which I retorted with the phrase "THAT IS MAHOGANY"- in which I would not be surprised if it was! Every inch of the Meadery is topped to bottomed with beautiful architecture and designs. I will most definitely be returning here for the humour of the staff, the charm of the decor, and the luxuriousness of the food. Yours Truly, Callum-David Bridger

I visited on a Thursday night about three weeks ago with my daughter, place is a real change from where we normally go, staff were great manageress was really accommodating especially as they were busy and we had no reservations, I had a burger and my daughter had the small chicken shes a child, she loved the salad bar, as did I,the desserts are lovely, especially the Tennessee grasshopper (minty cake) with Cornish clotted cream.. great atmosphere inside my daughter had never been to a meadery and wants to go again, sadly there aren't any near where we live. but will make an effort to come back next summer

Had my worst experience eating out by being given the beef lasagne instead of the vegetarian one. I asked the waitress if it was the vegetarian one before it was given to me and realised that it wasn't on my second mouthful. When I asked again and showed it to the staff I was told no it wasn't and was really quite upset about it. A member of staff spoke to their boss, waived the fee for it, brought out a vegetarian one and apologised, which was acceptable but the owner/manager never came over to apologise or check if I was OK? I had lost my appetite by then and was only able to eat a couple of mouthfuls and I felt they didn't fully understand just how awful a mistake like that is and how it can potentially be quite serious if someone has food allergies or religious reasons for not eating certain foods? I highlighted it to the person ( owner/manager?) who I believe was in charge and took payment for my drink but they gave a lukewarm apology and told me that mistakes happen. I said that this had never happened to me anywhere before and it was actually quite a big mistake especially as I had asked at the time they gave it to me if it was the vegetarian one. At which point she said "No way" I asked her what she meant by "no way" and was told that no way did that happen as the waitress was a vegetarian and would never have given it to me knowing I was one as well! I stated that I definitely asked the question and was then once again told "No way!" I was really shocked by the attitude and suggestion that I was a liar and said that I couldn't believe that she was actually standing there calling me a liar! She then accused me of shouting at her and a lady from our table interjected and said that I definitely did ask the question as she had heard me, to which she was also told "no way"! She again said that I did as she, her partner and three other people had heard me! The woman mumbled something about already having apologised but was obviously not interested and was trying to make me look like I was the one causing a problem! I told her that her apology was worthless (as she was clearly not sorry at all) and that I would never step foot in there again! I have never experienced such dreadful customer service and am totally appalled by this lady's lack of empathy and downright...

Took my grandchildren to their favourite place to eat only to really disappointed with service we received. I ordered the children from the kids menu their starter etc. We then waited over 40 minutes for the food. When this came everything came at once, the children’s starter and the main corses for us all. I told the guy serving us that I was not happy that the starter coming at the same time as the main just to be told “ if the adults aren’t having starters then the kids get theirs when everything else comes”. I asked why we weren’t told this when we ordered or why it was not made clear on the menu he just said “I don’t know “. If this the policy to treat children as second class citizens ,unless the adults also have starters perhaps you could be up front and print the policy on the menu. By the time my grandchildren ate the starter their mains were at best luke warm so they gave up part way through as their food was now cold. Having said that the chicken that me wife had was not as hot as it usually is but was just hot enough that you could eat but again was fairly cold by the time you were half way through. Total waste of food as everyone gave up and ruined the evening. Having been here to eat many times over the years, I think at least three times this year already, it was noticeable how the portions had diminished in size and presentation was more plonk it on the plate and push it out then the service I have...
