When Rex opened I wasn’t a fan. It took them a while to find their groove. But what a groove that is now! As a regular Ascot coffee shop WFH change of scenery option, it’s now very very good. And by good, I mean :welcoming, organised, clean, fast service, good coffee and great bread & pastries. They’ve turned what used to be my Lloyds/TSB bank building into a haven on the high street. A couple things they could fix are: weird height of tables (too high). Uncomfortable bench seating at the front. The, now, excellent customer service is a breath of fresh air against a high street that has been blighted by the impersonal service experience of WHSmith/Costa/Tesco/Subway. Well done Rex!

I went here with two friends today for lunch. We were warmly greeted by a member of staff and shown to a table. The place is clean, bright and airy and not overly noisy even though it was busy. The food here is fab, we have been for coffee and pastries before but not had lunch. I ordered the prawn and coconut curry with rice which was absolutely delicious and definately restaurant class. My friends ordered bubble and squeak with bacon and poached eggs. The eggs were perfectly done and the food was lovely. We followed up with tea and a pastry, I had a plum and custard crown which was perfect. Great service and food, medium priced and a nice atmosphere. Highly recommend.

First ever visit and was very impressed. Always walk past but have never gone in. The options were amazing which can be difficult as a vegetarian. Me and my friend both had a smoothie which was delicious and made fresh to order just like they advertise. I had the Greek yoghurt which was beautiful, and a very decent portion size. My friend had the pancakes and bacon with maple syrup which she said was amazing and she would definitely have again. Overall was a beautiful spot to stop for food and drink and will be telling all friends to go there. Would much rather support a family run business than a chain. Staff were lovely too x

A bit of strange experience. Went their for late breakfast and their were 3 staff members (2 girls and a guy) behind the counter. The guy served me. Chose Egg n toast with Avacado. Total was £16.70. I paid £20 (£10, £5, £5). He opened his til and said if I have a 20p coin so he can give me 50p. I handed overr 20p and he gave me 50p. He closed his til, gave me the receipt and moved on. I looked at the receipt and it said change to be £3.30. I asked immediately that I only got 50p, but not the rest - but with a very condesending smile he said no, I also gave you £3 as well. I checked my pockets and I said, no I didnt. Are you sure you gave me £3. With the same smirk - he said yes. I said ok and moved on. Its only £3 and I thought I might have been mistaken. Upon checking all my pockets - I definitely didnt get any money. So disappointed with (A) not getting the money (B) the attitude of the server (C) lack of understanding that he could have...
