Ascot Spices — Restaurant in Sunninghill and Ascot

2 of us arrived at just after 21:30 and were immediately told we would have to be quick although the restaurant was supposed to be open until 22:45. Far from a friendly welcome. We ordered quickly and the food and drinks arrived promptly but were just dumped on the table. The waiter had to fetch the cutlery and then we had to ask twice for some yoghurt sauce to accompany the starters. It wasn't particularly busy but there was minimal interaction between the staff and any of the customers. The bill arrived quickly but had a 10% service charge included which certainly wasn't merited. When we left we had to say goodbye as there was no greeting or thanks forthcoming from the staff. This is our regular place to order Indian food.

I ordered a couple of weeks back when ascot races had been on. ordered online and was given a 30min delivery time ( usually arrives after about 20 mins)

We waited 45 minutes and as it was a race day, we then waited another 15 to allow for the busy period ............ nothing

made a phone call and we were told 5 mins longer which is perfectly acceptable.

Total time waiting was 1.5hrs and my kids were now moaning, food arrives and is ... COLD so I had no option to reheat my freshly prepared food as we could wait no longer.

When I called to tell the restaurant of the issue I was told I would receive a phone call from the manager.

No phone call, no discount and not really any apology.

Uninspiring menu, very basic standard curry selection. We ordered two dishes from the 'house specialties' both with very different descriptions that tasted the same as if they make basic one curry and add prawns or chicken, a bit more chilli or maybe some coconut milk. The food was agreeable, just alright, nothing special. Service was abysmal. My cutlery was literally chucked on the table in front of me and when they cleared the table they checked my beer bottle still had some in it, left that but took away my glass.
