Good Coffee, Poor Service I visited and enjoyed their delicious coffee. However, the service was lacking. To my dismay, as I was about to place my order for a second coffee, a staff member abruptly placed a sign on my table, indicating that it was reserved starting from 11.00. This sudden action left me puzzled, wondering if there was a special event or reservation taking place. Unfortunately, it turned out that the table was reserved for another staff member who seemingly had a preference for that particular spot. This incident left me feeling unappreciated as a customer. While the quality of the coffee cannot be faulted, the lack of customer service and the incident with the reserved table significantly detracted from the overall experience. My husband and I like this place, even though it can take a while for the drinks and food to make their way to the table after ordering. Today, however, big disappointment. We both ordered a toasted teacake each and they arrived with no butter, just a portion of jam. When I asked if we could have some butter we were told they didn't have any! Being lifelong fans of toasted teacakes we couldn't quite believe the no butter situation. Jam is a no-no on a teacake as any officianados will tell you!! My husband actually went to the nearest shop and bought some butter but by the time he got back the teacakes had cooled down so they weren't at their best. All orders are taken at the till, and unlike most other places they don't fulfill the order there and then they carry on taking more orders, so if like myself you walk in for a take away coffee, you spend 20 minutes !! waiting with a queue of other customers while the 2 members of staff rum around like headless chickens trying to catch up on all the orders they have taken. And to rub salt in the wounds, they got my coffee order wrong, and then looked at me like it was me who ordered wrong, and definitely not because they were too busy chatting to the locals...
