Pretty standard for a wetherspoons, High notes would be the building itself and the staff, Strange that upstairs is closed so all customers were split between two moderately sized rooms, Unfortunately seemingly understaffed, plenty of tables left uncleared, however present staff were very attentive and helpful, especially the nice chap in the waistcoat. Could do with more staff and signage on stairs and doors stating what portions of the pub are open/serving food in.

This is possible the smartest and most impressive Weatherspoons that I have visited, and I have visited rather a lot. It is a beautiful building with so much character and style. It is an old converted church that is very neatly converted to a restaurant. It is spacious and smart construction that works well. As always, the cost of food and drink bring you to a Weatherspoons and they are often very full, it's the cost that makes me visit.

This Weatherspoons had so much character and charm. It's in an old church, and they were in the process of doing a lot of restoration work to the structure of the building. It's a really good-sized pub with lots of seating. There is the normal Weatherspoons menu with something for everyone. Our breakfasts came quickly and were really well cooked. Staff were really friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

Visited The Man in the Moon owing to an excellent menu for both food and drink and it appeared a nice location in the heart of the Isle of Wight town centre, Newport.

Lovely outdoor gardens and also a vast range of seating to choose from inside the venue, both upstairs and downstairs. Toilets were clean and pleasant.

Some of the tables were dirty unfortunately and the carpet was both very grubby and worn. I did however locate the drinking water station and I must commend the partnership with Refill.org helping to reduce plastic waste at the Wetherspoons location (also accessible on the REFILL app).

Our experience is rated three stars because we ordered a single cocktail through the app at 16:58 to our table, using the locator on it. We then sat and waited, for it to arrive at approximately 17:12 which was almost 15 minutes after ordering. I would understand a delay like this if it were a food order/large drinks order, but for a single cocktail this seemed excessive.

We didn't receive an apology for the delay, but I identified the cause of it myself, and it was what appeared to be the bar staff making a large batch of drinks orders in one go, and then choosing to bring them over to each table simultaneously. After our drink was delivered, we saw them proceed to at least two more tables. I don't think this approach is entirely efficient for the customer (it is for the staff who only have to walk around once) but it was a long wait for one drink.

Gin-ting drink was fruity and fresh, served with ice and slice of fruit, it was very nice.

Good location overall and would recommend to others, and visit again, but poor service through using the app to order. Perhaps will use the bar next time as the drink is made in front of you and then you can take it to...

The Manager is a nasty bully! That tries to intimidate customers and staff!

I ordered food and a drink from here. The onion rings were cold, and the batter was overcooked; a few didn't even have onions. They accidentally ordered a Skinny burger with onion rings instead of a Skinny chicken burger. I explained the error to the LOVELY server, who changed it for me halfway through my meal. Another server approached me, saying, "You need to pay for the Burger meal and the chicken burger meal "? Confused, I explained I hadn't eaten or touched the burger. It didn't leave the server's hands. She said my Manager said you have to.

She went to get her manager, and he came storming over, not even a "hello," just "you wasted a burger. You need to pay for this meal." I said," I would be happy to pay the difference.". He rudely said, "No, you have wasted resources."

I then explained that if I had been told before eating the chicken burger, I wouldn't have taken it. He asked which server served me. I Said, "couldn't have told you who. " I did not want this sweet girl to get into trouble.

I spoke to a server the next thing I saw. She was being marched into his office with a face like thunder. A few minutes later, they both left. She looked like she was upset and scared.

All I could do was say sorry to...

I have rarely been to a venue with such poor customer service. Although there were hand sanitisers in doorways, we observed very poor hygiene practices. Paper menus were splattered with food and greasy fingerprints. Some staff were wandering around with no masks. Table staff were seen to very quickly wipe tables, but not chairs. When I questioned one of the managers about this, he informed me that it's not part of their covid policy to clean chairs!!! He apparently hadn't noticed the chairs were the first things people touched when they went to sit down.....and is it not normal hygiene policy to clean chairs as well as tables?? The food was also poor....fish overcooked, I asked for tartar sauce and there wasn't any. No pizzas were available at all, even though they are a major part of the menu. And to top it all, we were told to leave at 9.40, even though they are supposed to be open until 10pm. My nephew had just ordered a non alcoholic drink in a bottle and when he tried to leave with it was told he couldn't. When he questioned why then had he been served with it, staff were just abusive. This really was a shocking experience and, suffice to say, we will never be frequenting this venue again. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND...
