I have promised to visit this place so many times, but until now, I have never made it. Today is the day that my wife and I finally got to try it out. it's rather a well presented building with lots of character built in the Victorian period. The staff came across as very friendly and helpful with nice warm smiles that were genuinely ment. As it was early on a Sunday morning. we had coffee. The price is very good compared to the mainline coffee shops, and not bad at all. All in all, it was a nice experience. My only issue was that the music was a bit on the loud side that made conversation a little harder.

This was an exciting bar to visit, carrying a strong vibe into the hours around midnight! I would recommend visiting here before the clubs since it indicates how busy it will be from most people leaving here to go clubbing afterwards, live music was offered at this bar which was delivered by strong performers. The purple lighting brings out the fun vibe and the architecture adds to the feel, including the numerous pillars! I had a reasonably priced pint of cider for a late bar, counter is stylish in itself.

Really good find for a late night oat milk coffee. So many places use automatic cappuccino machines with dairy milk these days - so it was fab to find this. The chocolates served with the coffee look vegan too - but my only request for improvement would be to stick the ingredients list on the storage box just in case of any allergy enquiries. Definately would be back again.

Incredibly rude staff (except for the blonde lady who is absolutely lovely, a couple of younger ones and some new ones.), long waits, drinks often forgotten, no food due to being 'short staffed' although they've recently hired several others and cleanliness that is truly beyond unacceptable. There's also no manager or sense of management/hierarchy whatsoever which I think is a huge issue.

The toilets are absolutely diabolical (see pictures) and the sarcastic young members of staff are incredibly bad mannered. Other members of staff are often sat eating, out the front smoking or a recent update is sat at the front topless. 😂

As I sat writing this, 3 male members of staff sat outside having drinks topless and one girl has had her lunch and cuddled a puppy. All whilst dressed in her work uniform for over an hour. At 17:55, she left work without even lifting a finger (except to eat whilst sat in the sun).

You cannot declare to be unable to serve food because you're short staffed and then spend nearly 2 hours topless and drinking.

This café/bar is clearly run for fun yet ironically isn't that fun.

Update! I've now been 'banned'! With no word from 'management' or anything whatsoever. Interesting....

I'm currently sat outside Sass and it's empty. Both in and out. O'Lea's next door is busy, with people both inside and out. Their coffee might not be 99p, but I'm sure their staff are friendly, their cleanliness is top notch and that they're following Covid guidelines.

Read your reviews and listen to your customers because I'm not the only one who feels this way!

At least I have...

My wife and I arrived at The Royal Hotel opposite too early, about 1pm, to check in. We were hungry and Thirsty and found this bar. Outside and Inside it is a great building with lots of character. We were not looking for a big meal, so the menu options of only toasties and Pizzas was all we needed. There were no hand pump beers, but a selection of bottled ales. The toasties were good value and tasted good but, we were quite hungry! One of the bar staff gave me the feeling that he did not want to be there, while another member of staff was friendly and chatty. Most of the customers in the bar at the time were probably over 40, like me. I imagine in the evening the bar attracts a younger age group with music and a small...
