AVOID AVOID AVOID. COMPLETE & ABSOLUTE SHAMBLES. ZERO STARS.
Yes I really mean this place is to be avoided and is a complete and utter shambles. We ordered a drink….. waited forever… when we asked where it is they said “we don’t actually have that drink available”. No apologies. Just “we don’t have that drink”. When I enquired as to why they didn’t tell me when I ordered they said “we don’t have the ingredients to make that drink”. No worries, water it is then.
Then we ordered our food… masala dossa and mattar paneer. The dossa that came was more like a popadom. Crumbliest thing you’ve ever seen. When I asked why, they said “it must have been made a little too crispy”. No offer of a replacement. No apology. It took three different waiting staff to gang up on our table to explain this in an extremely aggressive argumentative manner.
A short while later, a thick gooey pea soup appeared.. no paneer in sight. When I asked if they’d sent the wrong dish, they said “that is a mattar malay methi”. I told them that I’d ordered a mattar paneer. They told me “we don’t make that”. I asked why they wrote down mattar panneer, and why didn’t they tell me when I placed the order and questioned why Is there a photo of a mattar panner dish on the menu. They said “that’s just a photo. We don’t actually have that dish. Paneer is not in our cuisine”. No apology. No offer of an alternative.
There are countless other things that went wrong throughout the experience. Rude staff, arrogant attitude, filthy cutlery, long wait times, watching other diners get up and walk out, all manner of what makes a complete and utter shambles of an establishment. I will watch this restaurant with interest, and fully expect failure for this establishment in the long term. Untrained Staff have a poor attitude, they have absolutely NO CLUE about customer service and I only paid the bill as I told myself it is a charitable donation as the staff must be on £1 an hour and treated like slaves. Got to be THE most comical and shambolic experience I’ve had in this city for as long as I can remember. Shockingly poor…. So poor that it is actually funny. To be clear…. Not on single apology throughout the entire disappointing and let down of an experience.
There are so many other places on the lovely golden mile and I would not eat here if it was the last place left in the city. AVOID AT ALL COSTS - YOU...
Read moreWent to this Restaurant with my Parents. Waited Almost 40 minutes for our order for Masala Dosa. On Arrival the Masala Dosa Wrapped Pastry was Over Cooked & Dark Brown. Called over the Waitress to whome I said that the Pastry Wrap was overcooked. She called in the other Male Persons behind the front counter who came over & determined that this is how they come. The Management did not want to return to the Kitchen to re order as this would have been Good Customer Service. We Accepted to Enjoy the prepared Masala Dosa but were VERY Disappointed as the Pastry was FAR TOO THIN, CRISPY & was OVERCOOKED! Also The Lentil that was prepared alongside the Masala Dosa was TOO WATERY & did not have FULL Ingredients. On complaining at the end to the Same Male Person behind the front counter, he STILL insisted that there was not a problem with the way the Masala Dosa had been prepared. No Apology was given & they were Happy to take Payment from my Payment Card. They really should LISTEN to the Customer & Understand that A Customer Would ONLY be Complaining if there is A PROBLEM with the Order & see to Pleasing the Customer by LISTENING. Personally The Wrapped Pastry around a Masala Dosa should not be LESS than Wafer Thin & NOT OVERCOOKED to be looking like it had been BURNT on the pan. I will not be going to this Restaurant again to order a...
Read moreWe went on weds evening, we ordered paper dosa, channa batura & dahi puri. The waitress tried to discourage us from having paper dosa but we said that’s what we wanted.
The dahi puri arrived first, swimming in sweet imli chutney....not good, unless you want dessert.
Then came a tiny flat soggy sada dosa.... when we asked where the paper dosa was, the waitress was obsessed with showing us the order recipt that she had requested paper and this is how the kitchen made it..... maybe she thought I was stupid as I look English although I am half Indian and lived in India for many years, although my husband is full Indian. Then came the channa batura....this was the worst ... no batura in fact it was white soggy puris.... again the waitress tried to explain to me what a batura is and that it comes like this!!! I am Punjabi....at this point I told her not to be too smart with customers, she continued talking over me!! We are now 4 days after eating here and my husband and I are still suffering incredibly loose bowels, we have consulted a pharmacist he suggested that we may have a gut infection, caused by food! No wonder they only have a 3 star rating!!!!
AVOID UNLESS YOU LIKE BAD FOOD, BAD SERVICE AND FOOD...
