Having never been to here before, we of course didn't know what the processes were. So everything was new to us, but surely not too different from all the other chains, right?
We had to order the food at the screen since there were signs everywhere saying to do so, implying that cashier ordering wasn't available. This was just the first issue, since we had questions about the food. But since it appeared that everyone was doing the same, we used a screen too.
We found an empty table, but it was COVERED in food waste and rubbish, so that needed to be cleaned up. Second issue obviously.
At least my son's drink arrived quickly, I assumed mine would come with food, I really should have asked the girl. This was when we could see people ordering at the cashier station by the counter, so the signs were misleading at best.
When the food did arrive, after a while since it is apparently all cooked to order, it looked and smelled really nice. My drink was missing so I asked and was told the cups were by the machine and we were supposed to help ourselves. The lady who brought out the food, not the same one who brought out my son's drink, wasn't rude but maybe seemed apathetic or bored. But the fact that I asked maybe could have clued her to the fact we had never been before and might have needed help?
My meal was supposed to come with several dips, which were not present. There was some some back and forth at the ordering screen when at the dips section, because once again this was the first time there and we had no idea how it was supposed to work. I had forgotten about the dips, and did not ask where they were since I again thought they would be brought out separately, they were not.
The food itself was really nice and moist, so the lack of dips wasn't as big a problem in the end, but they would have been nice for the extra flavour. It was just as well the drink was refillable since we were thirsty and the food was on the salty side.
So what do I think? Replace, or supplement, the signs telling people to order at the screens with ones telling people to tidy up after they have finished would be first! The food itself was really quite nice, moist with lots of flavour, I can't comment on the dips... just as well they were part of the meal not paid extras or I would have kicked up a fuss.
It wasn't an especially busy time when we arrived, 5pm on the last Thursday at the end of the school holidays, so there could have been staff to clear and clean.
Maybe I'm too old for this place, most of the other customers looked like teenagers. Oh, and it was also expensive compared to other fried chicken places. I'll stick to Nandos...

Right so it's the first time I'm dining at any Slim Chicken.
I went for mix and match 3 wings 3 boneless.
The boneless was very tender just right, but the flavouring was not to my liking, just bland mix of unknown substances of so called spices.
The wings were quite bad actually, it was in the fryer for way too long and the flavour was.. I don't know neither spicy neither nice neither anything just tasted of burned oil
The potato fries were actually very good, nice and long, crispy and the right thickness
3 dips Gravy mayo: new taste for me, gravy and mayo mix I guess, quite good actually
Buffalo: very runny, no other taste than just vinegary rubbish mixed with something red? Quite bad actually
Siriacha Garlic: Wanna be sweet chilli but ain't. Not as bad as Buffalo but ain't great either.
Drink; Budweiser like for real?! They sell actual beer 🍺🍻🍺🍻🍺🍻 wow.
As for the branch: service was very good, the lady that served the food was very nice, Cleanliness was top No a single bad thing to say about the staff.
I ate at 19:00 ish so the food quarter was really busy and this place was the only reasonable amount of people for shortish serving time
In conclusion: wanna be KFC but the food is NOT even close to...
Read moreWent in slims tonight to get my daughter a takeaway for when she finished work. Friendly young man served me and I asked for no mayo on the chicken burger. Paid and sat down to wait.
The server came and said to me they couldn’t give me it as there’s also dairy in the roll. I said oh she hasn’t an allergy but he said no couldn’t do it so I said ok I’ll just have the tenders, off he went and came back to say nope can’t do that as they have dairy in the coating, I repeated she has no allergy but nope said he could only refund.
The cook came out and I politely said there’s no allergy she just doesn’t like mayo, she said no it came through on my screen as an allergy, so I can’t do it. I said ok I’ll have a refund and re order she refused, my daughter had now came in to meet me and said I’ll order it from the screen, she said point blank she wouldn’t be serving us anything.
Absolutely crazy !! have to give credit to the server as he was trying to be helpful, and was also polite, the woman (cook) was rude and had zero customer...
