I wrote a previous review scoring 4/5. True to this review, i returned. However this time i would score 1 star.
I was picking up a takeaway to take to friends. Smoky Boys seemed like a quick and ideal option, so popped in.
Tried to order a kids chicken nugget meal with 2 burgers but couldnt. The kids option is only available for dine in.
I suggested, I order the kids meal as a dine in and order the 2 burgers to take away. The store manager advised me that he would have to add a service charge but confirmed this was optional. What happened next was an irrational discussion about how as a franchise, he was unable to do what I was asking for even though staff can provide ways of taking away food that is not finished in a seated meal, and the service charge can be taken off.
I exited; frustrated that a solution that would work for us all could be found. Went next door and ordered pizza instead.
My conclusion; thisbplave was empty. I can see why that might happen. Smokey Boys don't need my custom. Absolute waste of time. Customer service majorly lacking...
Read moreThis place is fantastic. The manager is always very friendly and takes a personal interest in making sure you have a good meal. Not so much that you feel pestered but just enough to ensure everyone still has a glass of water or the food is ok.
And wow the food is great. I'm veggie but the halumi stack is wonderful and a place of nachos will keep 4 to 5 people going as a starter. My son introduced me to it. Im not kidding but the first time he ate a burger he cried it was that good. He loves the meat in the beefburgers and the cheeses are great. House sauces are hot so don't put too much in if you're a bit sensitive to spicey.
Last week it was my son's birthday. Without prompting, the manager saw the cards on the table and brought him a brownie fudge cake with a candle and sang happy birthday to him.
Warm and friendly. Reasonably priced and most of the tables are in little kiosks so you get privacy for your meal.
Check it out....
Read moreI was thinking this place would be good given there are two other branches in central London… very wrong, I assume this is a case of being a sub-par franchise. Ordered Steak & Chips, Brisket Burger and a Caesar Salad. Steak was ordered medium, was over cooked and wellington boot chewy, inedible. Chips were hard and the peppercorn sauce microwaved and hotter than molten lava. The Brisket Burger was an overload of sauce, sloppy. And then there’s the Caesar salad with its bitter vinegar sauce, akin to something a student at university would put together.
I was not going to write this review, but the “that’s how you ordered it” attitude of staff combined with no attempt to make the situation, when faced with entirely uneaten plates, any better led me to, don’t make the same error of judgement that I did. (2 stars because the food came out in a good time and the restaurant was...
