I have been going to the Beech House ever since it first opened and have previously compiled a good feedback form on those past experiences.
Over the last few months I have noticed a gradual decline in customer service, food quality and levels of service from the waiting staff.
The most recent attendance was undertaken this weekend just past and was for my wife's birthday. We were joined by our 2 daughters and grandson.
Upon arrival around 4pm on a Saturday we not greeted by anyone and just choose our own seating.
The food section was empty with only two tables being used.
A few minutes passed and a waitress arrived and gave us some menus with no customer interaction or feeling of being greeted or introduction.
she left and returned a few minutes later to ask if we were ready to order our drinks?. We advised we were ready to provide our complete order and she promptly took our order.
The waitress left to resolve the drinks order and returned to our table with a handful of cutlery and lap towels..but just threw them on the table and left !.
The drinks arrived promptly but the food was slow in arriving. After ordering it was around 20 minutes before our food arrived.
The chicken burger was dry and overcooked.
The 'special' pork chop was chewy to the point of being totally inedible.
The bolognese pizza was a lump of mush that just feel off the pizza when moved and the base was like rubber.
The vegetation dish ordered without chillies arrived full of chillies !.
The side order of chips arrived when we were leaving and the crayons for the grandsons drawing book ( as supplied by beech house) never arrived despite asking 3 or 4 times !.
The blonde lady manager on duty ( missed her name, apologies) was very helpful and apologetic but this does not help with a ruined family meal which had been planned for over a week !.
The level of service and quality of food may have been more excusable had the place been busy but it was near enough empty upon arrival!.
I had noticed a small issues during my previous visits prior to this attendance but just put them down to the facility being very busy at the time and maybe short of staff?.
The food and service were both found to be below any decent level of standard and I feel that the Casual ambiance of the front social / drinking area is leading to a casual attitude towards diners from the operatives.
I fully appreciate that the social area to the front is a great facility but this should not be at the diners expense .
I can only hope it gets better because The Beech house is normally a great place to eat and drink in Amersham.
Fingers...
Read moreIf you are considering to come to this establishment for an enjoyable evening, please don’t. My experience at this venue was one of the worst I have ever encountered. I appreciate that the team were busy due to being a Friday night but the treatment we received from the moment we arrived was nothing short of complete rudeness with no apology offered at any point. Waited 25 mins to be greeted by a member of staff. Once sat down, it took 45 mins/ close to a hour! for someone to come and take our drinks order. By this time we knew our food order to which half was sold out so had to order something else. The food was lovely and such a shame the service was dreadful. Completely ignored by all of the staff members to which I waved several times to be completely ignored even when I was clearly in their eye line. By the time someone managed to come to our table to take desert, to be told the kitchen is now closed was incredibly disappointing. It even took 30 mins to get someone’s attention to give us the bill! We left at 10:45! During this time from arriving at 7:30pm we had one drink and 3 starters in over 3 hours! Having been a waitress myself for serval years, I have never experienced such poor service! Quite frankly, we left your establishment feeling quite down from being ignored from the moment we arrived! I would have rather them to have been honest if they were that busy so I could have gone somewhere else instead. I would never recommend this bar to anyone! I don’t tend to post my thoughts online but I really don’t want other customers have to experienced what we went through considering there must me much nicer places to spend your weekend evenings on this...
Read moreVisited on Mother’s day, when we originally made our booking we booked for 12:30 then received an email saying that our booking had to be moved to 12:45 (presumed this was as they would be extremely busy on Mother’s day) when we arrived the restaurant was half empty so didn’t really understand why we had been pushed back! Ordered our food and drinks at the same time, waited 25 minutes for our drinks and still hadn’t got them, we asked the waiter for some tap water while we waited for our drinks (never received this the whole time we were there!) Went up to the bar to ask what was happening with our drinks (only ordered soft drinks so wasn’t like they took longer to make) they said our drinks would be brought over, we then received our food before our drinks and the waiter who gave our food was confused as to why we hadn’t got our drinks so had to go and sort them out himself! we then ate and had to wait ages for our plates to be cleared and we were then asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu but was told it was a long wait for desserts (even though they weren’t busy!) we said no and asked for the bill, we then received the bill and one of the mains had been over charged so we had this corrected, we then waited 25 minutes and no one came to take our payment so we had to go to the desk to ask to pay, we also asked for the service charge to be removed as we had such bad service and didn’t agree to paying it! over all such bad service. the food was amazing quality but the service would put me off...
