Spice Hut Hartlepool — Restaurant in England

Massively disappointed with this.

After much hype and people saying it was good I thought I would try it with a friend.

Firstly I ordered directly with the website and it only gave option for cash only so had to go to the bank first.

We ordered two smash burgers which was something these are supposedly popular for,

Stated an hour which we accepted but within 15 minutes it was delivered and I thought surely not.

Young lad delivering was polite and friendly but that’s where the happiness ends.

Handed a black bag what seemed to be pretty light despite two double burgers and chips in. Opened two polystyrene trays and a hand full of chips and a burger wrapped in tin foil squashed in. So presentation to say the least is dire and at £20 It was not great,

Tried a chip and it was cold and tasteless and then unwrapped the burger what just appeared to be a sweaty bun squashed with two patties. The burger its self was luke warm at best but tasted ok. The soggy bun was the thing what put me and my friend off most. I ended up leaving some as it was not enjoyable at all,

I just don’t understand why an order what was 5 minutes down the road and supposedly made fresh turned up like this, it would lead me to the conclusion that they were already sat there waiting to just go.

Normally my number 1 favourite takeaway that I like for a treat with family.

It does take usually an hour for delivery though collection is efficient enough. I think tonight it was 45/50 mins for delivery which is decent for them.

Never had an issue previously but tonight the lamb chops had none of the usual flavour, were a little chewy and pink which they never have been when I’ve ordered before. The chicken wings were also really gristly which we’ve never experienced before.

The biggest issue though was the black hair about 3/4 inches long running right through the shredded kebab meat. Completely put us off the rest of the food as soon as I found it. None of us have particularly dark hair let alone black so certainly wasn’t from anyone in the house. So disappointed as this is usually my hands down favourite place in town that I always recommend and we hadn’t ordered one in ages, hopefully it was just a one off but still won’t order again for a while as it was fairly nauseating.

Any previous order has been 10/10 though. Not sure what happened...

Ordered my food at 1840 and told my food would be delivered by 2000. At 2010 I rang up and asked and I was told it would be leaving shortley. At 2045 it turned up like warm and soggy.. I've had the food before and when it's hot it's nice but the majority of the time t turns up late. Thought I would try again a couple of months later. I ordered the spice box £14.99 at 1806hrs I was informed my food would be delivered by 1920 hrs. I rang up at 1950hrs as my food had not been delivered I was told it was with the driver. My food eventually arrived at 2005 hrs. The driver apologised how ever the food was cold. The loaded fries where just a congealed mess all clumped up together and the burger was cold with the ribs cold and greasey. I have had nice food from them before when it's been delivered promptly however cold it's not very apertising. I will not be giving them...
