Over 40minutes wait for 3 teacakes and 2 kids sandwiches. The building and decor are lovely and seemed very cosy but what made us choose here is their extensive gluten free menu which was perfect for our daughter who has coeliac disease. We had an hour free and decided this would be great to pop in for a little bite. We ordered a hot drink and 3 cold drinks, 3 tea cakes and 2 kids boxes (half a sandwich, crisp, yogurt & veg sticks) it came upto £20 which for the lovely setting aswell seemed well priced. There was a festival on but lots of staff members I saw atleast 6 work tops about and there was only 1 other table waiting for sandwiches aswell so we thought it wouldn’t be too long, drinks came straight away - amazing, after about 30minutes I asked the staff member how long the food would be remember we’re talking about 2 half sandwiches and 3 teacakes! The table that has ordered after us had already got there food, she said if we was waiting for food it would only be a minute, another 14 minutes later (44 in total) along came 2 children’s food boxes…… commense the wait now for 3 toasted tea cakes!!! Another 5 minutes later we had tea cakes, we took everything back to the car as we’d waited so long we now needed to set off but atleast we had the food, until we opened the toasted tea cakes in the car and they were burnt 😭 honestly we was so disappointed! we atleast thought waiting this long we’d have some level of quality. Such a shame as it would have been lovely to have a new gluten free go to.

Great latte today at Sweet Vintage. Laura is so welcoming. 🙏 Love the decor. I could sit and look around at things and drink excellent coffee all day. The cakes are all homemade. 😋 Lots of jars of retro sweets. It would have been rude not to buy some peanut brittle. 😋 😜 And not to forget my favourite childhood treat, chewing nuts. ❤️ 🐵 Give it a try when visiting Darwen.

What a fab hidden gem! I came here looking for a quick lunch, and everything was delicious! There were so many gluten free options - toasties, cakes, afternoon tea, even gluten free ice cream cones. The lady serving was so friendly and welcoming, and the cafe was super cosy, and decorated in a lovely cosy way. Will definitely be returning ☺️

Attended this cafe this afternoon and bought an americano and received half a cup of coffee, later on waiting for the Christmas light switch on I ordered a hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows I received a cup of mucky looking water with cream and marshmallows not a hint of chocolate. I took this back and complained. After being told that nobody else had complained added some more chocolate mixture to the hot water. Still didn't taste any better but drank non the less as I was cold. My son in law joined me a little later and got a cup of tea, said it was really stewed and tasted disgusting. I never even told him how bad the hot chocolate was. I understand that it was busy but should be no excuse for really bad tasting beverages. Would not recommend this place and will avoid...

I was waiting to be served and it took a while before I was served, These people have no idea if a slice of cake is suitable for vegetarian, I think its really abismal in this day and age when people have so many dietary requirements, I didn't expect her to have known from the top of her head but no effort was made in trying to find out or checking!! just looked at me when I asked her and said "I don't know" Please don't visit if you're vegetarian vegan or have allergies cause quite simply they haven't a clue to what they...
