I have been to Sycamore many times now since their opening. And to begin with I could forgive the slight unorganized feeling because the coffee was fantastic (and still is amazing, the best place to get coffee on the high street in my opinion), the food was simple and delicious and reasonably priced for Amersham and they were new. However, every time I have been back the feeling of disorganisation has yet to be remedied, the prices have increased and the quantity of food has decreased (which is fine there is still plenty to leave you feeling satisfied) but there has always been some sort of restriction. On multiple occasions they haven't had in stock the item I wanted to order, or they've run out of bacon (which is crazy) or I wasn't allowed to have fried eggs because they were only able to do poached eggs (still not clear on that one). The wait for food has become much longer as well and today I found myself having finished my coffee a full 20 minutes before my food appeared and not even hot. It was still a nice meal but it wasn't quite to the standard I would have liked. The cakes are amazing though, and there's always a great selection, and the staff are always very nice and super apologetic and accomodating (where they can be) and I cannot fault them at all. I just think a little more organisation, more thought (and maybe extra staff in the kitchen?) would...

When ordering 2 lattes I asked about the milk alternatives (as this not advertised ) and it seems they had a good selection so why not advertise it?
The cake display is a really strange there were no prices anywhere and I only realized some of the cakes were vegan due to reading the allergies then question it, Apparently they dont like to advertise it. I find that really odd, maybe they've had some particular customers in the past that had made a fuss about it saying vegan? Who knows . Myself personally I absolutely love it when I see the little vg or pb in the corner of the cake card or on a menu I don't have to question it and feel uncomfortable like I'm making a fuss I can order normally. Last of all they don't show the prices on the tablet just the total on the card machine so I still have no idea how much the cakes were. And when looking on the menu there wasn't anything vegan /plantbased or maybe there was and I just had to decode it The concept is very strange. And I so wanted to love...

Prosā : We went for brunch and there was a great variety of choices on the menu. We went for the italian brunch sandwich with fried egg, 2 sausage patties, potato rosti and nduja mayo (Ā£9) which was really good value and delicious, highly recommend this. We also ordered the avocado toast (Ā£9) and added beetroot cured salmon (Ā£3) which was again really good and it was a good portion size. The coffee (oat flat white) was also great. Servers were lovely and put out great service.
Consā: Canāt really fault this place at all !!
