Dreadful food. This is the second time I ordered from Tara thai as a local and both times it has been so poor and I'm no food connoisseur. But the first time my curry was half empty and cold but more disturbingly had blue dye in it from maybe a paper bag or magazines as the print was in the food and on the container. And the quality of the food was very disappointing and for 2 currys with a rice and a small starter selection I think Ā£37 is pricey. But at least we got crackers. Tonight we thought maybe they had a bad day a year ago and decided to give them a second chance but I couldn't believe how bad it was. Both our curries had a centimetre of thick oil on the top and that only filled half the container. The chicken masaman curry had 3 pieces of chicken in it and my chicken penang curry was insanely hot to the point I nearly chocked and I'm used to penang curry. And that cost us Ā£40. And this time no crackers š. Honestly don't bother. We took it back and...

Most importantly, Joy was possibly our favourite waitress that has ever served us anywhere in our lives. She was so much fun, so attentive, and provided such a great service that sometimes get forgotten in restaurants today - like asking if we wanted a break between courses because our starters came to us so very quickly.
I hope we can...
Read moreWe have not eaten here for a couple of years but the quality of the restaurant hasn't changed. Lovely staff, polite and accommodating. The atmosphere was lovely, although the lights were a little bright, and the music as a little to far in the back ground. The food was fantastic. The Thia prawn salad starter was to die for. Two starters, three main and a sticky rice, two sweet and two drink each less than £35 a head, I'd call that good value for money. The only grip I would have. Is I'm not keen on 10% services charges being added to the bill. We would of left a tip anyway, but this would have been by choice not imposed. I would recommend Tara Thia as a great...
