Tesco Cafe — Restaurant in England

Well first time here and won't come again. No menus on tables, no direction as to how to order or anything. Staff couldn't be less interested. Worked out that I had to order at the counter and that the only menu available is the one tucked away on the wall behind it. waiting in the queue to order and get pushed in front of by some obviously regulars 2 old ladies, of which the staff proceeded to serve rather than point out there was a queue. Atmosphere is flat, I think there is music playing but it's so low you can't hear it, could be the kitchen playing music loud I suppose. Overall an awful experience not to be repeated. As a side note the mark up is shocking £1.95 for a can of coke in the cafe, no glass or straw or anything provided and I've ordered food, yet I can go on the shop floor and buy one for 85p so I've no idea what the extra £1.10 is for. Ordered an iced matcha for the cafe, male member of staff looked at my blankly then had to refer to a recipe to make it. I asked for oat milk as I have a dairy allergy, I watched him make the drink as I lacked confidence, he proceeded to pick up the semi skimmed milk and pour it in. I had to shout out stop I have a dairy allergy. He did remake the drink but did not apologise. If I hadn’t of watched him closely I would have drunk the drink and become very unwell. Really impressed with this cafe. The food is fresh and well done, and the service is genuinely friendly without feeling forced. I had the haloumi burger, and it was one of the best I’ve had – crispy on the outside, soft inside, with good balance in the toppings. Their coffee is also spot on, strong without being bitter.
