Texas burger shakes and dessert — Restaurant in England

Updated Review June 2024: This has been our goto takeaway for 12 months, and while it started off an easy 5/5, I can no longer recommend it as such. The QUALITY VARIES.... It is my opinion the joint has 2 (or more) head chiefs, and only 1 of them really understands their trade. The result is quite literally one day - all food is 5/5 month or 2 later - all food is 2/5 or 3/5 month later - all food is 5/5 again

and so on. Based on this "will my food be nice" lottery, I can no longer say this is a 5/5. My original review follows, which applies on a GOOD day...

Easily the best takeaway in town, we ordered about £35 worth of food Between 3 of us last night (July 4 - 2023) and everything came correctly and was so nice, we were amazed, and sharing each others stuff round in disbelief how nice it was. There's a takeaway in Beverley (name escapes me) that's as good as this, but nothing else comes close. If you want some nice burgers, chips with plenty of options (I asked for no peppers but all else, which was no bother), creamy garlic mushrooms (with what tasted like freshly made up sauce) and fresh lettuce that was genuinely fresh and shredded in a way that made an otherwise boring salad a pleasure to eat. We ate here while visiting the area for a holiday and we were so impressed with the food we came back a second time. We didn't expect much from the food from previous experience eating from burger places on high streets but we were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. Some of the best burgers I've had, not greasy at all but very juicy, and the fries were fresh and crisp. There were ACTUAL salads available on the menu which is amazing and we are usually shocked and appalled at what passes for a 'salad' at similar establishments but these salads were actually really nice and elevated the meal. I wish other places had nice salads on the menu like this. My partner did order 'salt and pepper fries' which was not what we're used to getting when we usually order salt and pepper fries (seasoned fries with no topping), we got seasoned fries covered in mushrooms, peppers, onions. Tasty but not what we expected considering what it was called on the menu. It's not fancy for sure, but you'll get what you came here for, delicious food, friendly staff, affordable prices. Really highly recommend...

Ordered 2 imperial trooper burgers and some mac and cheese bites for collection which said 15 mins. Got there at 15 mins and waited half an hour for the order. The burgers were luke walm and missing the pulled pork and the pretzel bun was stale, the mac and cheese bites were cold in the middle. Not what you expect for a £30 order. Disappointed and most of it went in the bin. To add to my review after this the owner called and left a voicemail saying i was wrong i called back and was faced by him being rude and abusive and shouting down the phone because i left a bad review! Absolutely appalljng behaviour just like he showed to the lovely young girl when we picked the order up… spoke to her in an awful rude way! I never give a bad review but this guy needs to work on customer service and consistently. Had good food from here before but tonight was vile and has been on several occasions which i have let go and not put a review, definitely not worth the money.
