I recently visited this hidden gem of a vegan cafe located on a boat near the skate park, and it was an absolute delight. Despite not knowing about its existence until a friend's recommendation, I'm so glad I discovered it. The entire menu is vegan-friendly, catering perfectly to our party's dietary preferences.
The service was exceptional; the lady serving us was incredibly polite and friendly, making our first visit feel warm and welcoming. We appreciated how accommodating they were to our requests, happily making changes to our orders without any fuss. Even when they ran out of nuggets, they went above and beyond by deducting it from the bill, a gesture that truly impressed us.
The food arrived promptly and exceeded our expectations in taste and presentation. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, adding to the overall wonderful experience. Despite being initially quiet, the cafe gradually filled up, creating a lively ambiance. Overall, it was a memorable dining experience that left us all thoroughly satisfied and...
Read moreEven on a grey October morning, this was a great place to come for brunch! The Ark has been on my vegan radar for a while and it was great to see what they had to offer.
My wife and I ordered an oat flat white each, which was well made and hit the spot. I went for the tofu scramble and my wife the avo toast. The tofu was good and replicated those 'eggy' flavours well. I'd say it was a little bland and I'd have expected two slices of toast for the price (same amount of scramble). The hot sauce definitely helped and I appreciated them finding some for me.
The vibe of the place is great - I think they've recently (re?)decorated and it shows. I can imagine this being cool for parties, especially if you can make use of the top, outdoor level in good weather.
I will come back here at some point for one of their dinner-event evenings to see how they do main dishes. It's great to have a fully vegan option in town! For those that care, there's two Pokemon Go gyms in easy reach of the The Ark and...
Read moreMy family and I were interested to visit the Ark a cafe we see all the time whilst skateboarding. My son who is autistic is fascinated with boats and ships, so we decided to go and have a look. The moment we walked in we were met by a woman who clearly didn’t want us there. After I said we would like to have a look she looked at me like I was insane. No asking us if we would like to look at the menu, no customer care, no manners, no interest at all. My boy started to look around and she said. “ no you can’t go there and no you can’t use the toilets they are for customers only!” Wow! Was my thought we could have been customers and would have loved to have had a coffee. Shall never return. No customer service skills No human interaction skills Unfriendly Unkind Unfortunately the Titanic sank and so did my...
