So we tried bench bar in congleton because weve always been to the Nantwich one and it’s always amazing but the congleton one not so much, food wise was great exactly the same at Nantwich lovely but quiet slow waiting after our party of 6 all arriving by 5 past 6 we didn’t get food til half 7, two of us were there first about 10 to 6 as its was my mum birthday so we put a few banners on the table were asked for drinks but they didn’t start making them until all the other guests arrived and ordered their drinks which I thought was odd why ask us if you weren’t going to do them we all waited a fairly long time for these drinks aswell we had to ask for food menus which was annoying after waiting 30minutes or more for drinks we didn’t even have menus food was a long wait barring in mind it was not busy when we arrived they also took everyone else order for food before us when we got there long before everything was just long apart from the second we stopped eating oh they were very quick for to clear plates then don’t get me wrong the girls were very nice but just very slow clearly either kitchen couldn’t keep up and bar staff didn’t no how to make half the drinks because normally love the cocktails but 3 of us had 1 and didn’t order any more because they didn’t take the best and we thought we would be waiting all night for another anyway food was lovely but more training need to be done we will be sticking with the Nantwich...

Wow! What a little hidden gem at the top of town! Nothing better than day drinking with your family & friends in a gorgeous looked after venue! Booked for afternoon tea x6 ladies for a long overdue catch up! From the moment we entered Molly and her small team made us feel so welcome! We had a complicated diner with lots of allergies but at the moment of us entering Molly explained what was happening over her dietary requirements and confirmed and checked everything which made our diner happy and us a party feel so relaxed! Attentive service from the off and a gorgeous afternoon tea with a difference! A few of us knew exactly what to expect after visiting Nantwich branch but this venue felt so much more personal! Amazing cocktails, lovely vibe and we were able to chat and laugh without being overpowered by music! However, heart wrenching to see empty tables as we left!! Come on people get booking in you really wont be disappointed …. If we had this on our doorstep it certainly would be a venue we would all be dropping in all the time! Sometimes you don’t always appreciate what you have …can’t wait to revisit , think it’s bottomless brunch next time! Thanks everyone! Em & her...

I’ll start with the good the food was really flavourful and the meat was lovely and tender. Only critique was the toast for the Camembert was very very salty, making it hard to finish. And the salmon bites were bland in comparison to the other tasty food. The ox cheeks and chicken wings were delicious, probably our favourite! The drinks are nice, however took about 30 mins to come and the restaurant wasn’t even that busy. I also don’t recall anyone asking us if we would like any more drinks. I think the weekday (mon, tue, thur)deals are good, 2 plates for £8 or 3 for £12, keeps it affordable. They are good sized portions too so you don’t need more than 3. Unfortunately though the service wasn’t great. Everyone was lovely but very slow or inexperienced, so couldn’t answer our questions about the food or know whose drinks were what. I would go back for the food but not for...

The Bench Bistro in Congleton is a true gem. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for any occasion. The staff go above and beyond, making sure every detail is taken care of—nothing is too much trouble for them. Their friendliness and attentiveness make the experience even more enjoyable. The food is where Bench Bistro really shines. With generous portion sizes that leave you more than satisfied, every dish is bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. Whether you're trying their small plates or a hearty main, each bite is a testament to the care and quality that goes into their menu. Especially the presentation, absaloutly a must try it's so quirky and different If you're after delicious food, amazing service, and a great atmosphere, Bench Bistro is the place to be in Congleton
