Alex. How can you write a review like that it dosnt make sense... You are saying that if you are not "a local" you are not welcome but then you say you had fun in there.... but your not one of the locals so how can this be? Surely you would of left this place to find a nicer one????? I would think on your reviews as this can effect buisnesses The owners have turned it around in the last 2 years and last week alone over 40 new faces were in and commented how lovely relaxed and FRIENDLY everyone was. Yes of course you prob would of got a little idiot but in every pub you get them not just here. Also 2 yrs ago the place had 47 broke windows and now theres not. I know the landlady very well and she is very strict on them all i can assure you. Go and speak to her and she will check her cameras to validate...

Definitely a bit of a locals boozer and it did feel a bit intimidating as someone who doesn't frequent the establishment. But it's definitely not as bad as the reputation and the comments on here make out. The prices were pretty decent compared to most Bristol pubs. Don't expect a nice, relaxing beer in this joint. When I went in, the place was full of moronic, low-brow, ape-like white trash types. That is, the clientele were very unfriendly people casting menacing scowls in the direction of any outsiders ( namely, myself and some other African dude who also mistakenly wandered in).
