The Copper Kettle — Restaurant in England

My friend and I came to the copper for a nice quiet breakfast on a very rare day off. The staff were very unattentive and unwelcoming. Not even a hello. The wait wasn't too long and The food was good, but to have it just dumped in front of us with so much as a 'here you go' or 'enjoy'. Then whilst trying to enjoy the breakfast we ordered the quiet was disrupted by the two female staff out the back ranting about who knows what. What we did over hear was about a group of 6 that ' walked in, turned their noses up and walked out'. This was not the case, the woman on the counter just stood there watching them no 'hello' or 'can I help you' as they clearly needed a bigger table. Wanted to have a Sunday lunch, my husband pulled up in layby outside and I went in to ask a lady where we could park, went back outside to tell my husband where to park then stood in queue for five minutes just to be told we couldn't have a table and when I said I'd been in and my husband was parking I was told quite abruptly that there is no table after payingfor parking ! My 2 year old and I had a lovely time here. The staff were really nice and friendly, and so good with my child. Yhey gave him a pen and some paper to keep him entertained whilst waiting for food. The food was delicious (I would definitely recommend having the mushrooms!), and the portion sizes were really good too. I just wish I could have tipped more. We just didn't have enough change.
