The Dancing Jug (Charminster) — Restaurant in England

Ordered online (via Just Eat) as we wanted to collect and eat at home; no other option to order through their actual website! Menu looked very appealing and well priced however this was the only positive. My group of 5 adults ordered with an estimated time of 15 minutes for collection. On arrival, spoke with someone from the bar and directed me to the kitchen. Met by a second member of staff and asked my order number. A half second glance and a quick check of the kitchen; advised it would be another 2 minutes (which was fine) and if I wanted to order from the bar whilst I waited. Politely declining, I waited...after 5 minutes, I was still waiting...and after 15 minutes watching the kitchen staff place food in microwaves to heat food, I was still waiting! Spoke with a 3rd passing member of staff requesting an update on my order. Asking my order number and another glancing look, they walked into the kitchen to check with the 2 Chefs and check dockets...returning to say "I don't know!". After requesting they ask someone that will have an update, they continued to say "I don't know" and walked behind the bar where they stood without further follow up. 2 Uber Eats?/Deliveroo?/Just Eat? drivers came and went and when my wife joined me waiting (20-25 minutes by now), she commented on the kitchen looking like it had stopped operating. The Chef saw me and approached asking if I was waiting for an order. Replying, it was discovered my order had been sitting atop a shelf near the collection area...the same sealed bagged order I observed one of the first members of staff place it on the shelf 15 minutes earlier! Unbeknown to me, it was mine however this was not disclosed to me NOR did any staff members have a clue about this bag being there!!! Irate, I received my order and left after venting my frustration to an apologetic Chef. Sadly, it wasn't his fault which I told him before leaving. On immediate arrival home, I distributed the food to find my order and a second persons order missing; along with half an order of a third person! Calling the venue straight away, I spoke with the manager advising of the shortfall. I made a second trip to collect the missing items 10-15 minutes later. Some of the food was nice, the remainder was difficult to eat (roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings hard, vegetarian roast option tasted odd, etc). First time ordering through Just Eat...probably just stick to cooking myself or ordering from establishments I...

Went in for friends birthday,had to wait for over 30mins before someone even came to our table,we had to approach staff on numerous occasions for service and was still waiting. Can't knock the food as it was lovely. They must have overbooked as staff were running about doing there best,so i don't blame them, however i do blame the management for the diabolical service. The Area Manager was prancing about doing nothing, not helping in shape or form but he did however go into the kitchen with his outdoor clothes whilst the chefs were preparing and cooking food,which is a big no no in the food industry. There was 30ppl booked in for an engagement party that had to be in one of the smoking areas as there was nowhere for them to go,considering that party was booked in 4 wks ago. Ladiws toilet disgusting and smelling with the floor wet and no effort to rectify except for a wet floor sign outside both gents and ladies doors, not specifying to which one it relates to. This is my 2nd visit,after the 1st wasn't great,so decided to give them another go. I definately won't be returning...

Went in yesterday for a hen party of 20 people. They had only set up a table for 16. Started decorating and I put confetti on the table. The manager I believe to be Kerry came up to me and was so rude telling me she had told me in a message no confetti. I explained to her I have never spoken to her so I didn’t know otherwise I wouldn’t have put it on the table. She made us swipe it all up as they didn’t want the mess of it but spoke to me so loudly and rudely that half the place heard and it was so embarrassing. She then admitted it must have been a different party she had said it to, but with no apology. Toilets were disgusting, the toilet roll wasn’t even in the holders, just left on the floor. The hand dryer would have made your hands more dirty from the state of it. They gave us the wrong cocktails claiming it to be what we had ordered. Depressing music for such a sunny Saturday spring afternoon. The manager then forgot to give my friend her change. Honestly, I couldn’t...
