Quiet, cosy and friendly. This deli is first class, most of all it's dog friendly which gets extra points! Malton is known for its food, however this deli has not succumbed to the commercialisation or mass marketing. It serves well made food which is very good value for money. We had various melts which were generous, cheesy and fresh, the platter for two was huge and beautifully presented. Gluten free options are good and certainly more varied than other places. Great for families, including doggos and quick, friendly and courteous service are a refreshing change. There is also a small deli shop section that sells a range of quality produce to take home. All in all a great place for lunch.

Dog friendly, friendly staff (dog got fussed and a free sausage) Had breakfast. Wasn’t amazing but also wasn’t bad. Little pricey for what we got but I’d recommend a visit to any tourists in the area.

Fabulous Yorkshire goats cheese salad. Served on crusty bread with onion chutney, salad, bacon, boiled egg and walnuts. Pot of Earl Grey cane with a pot of hot water for you to top up with.

The food when it eventually arrived was good however I am not happy with the service I received after speaking to the manager. We made our server aware that I was allergic to tomatoes so nothing was put on my plate. The food came out and the chips had chip spice which has tomato paste in it. The server and took the food away was lovely however it wasn't brought back on a clean plate, the chef them bellowed that there was tomato paste in it which was very unprofessional. I then asked to speak to the manager where I am got blamed for having My allergy even though we let the server no that the no tomato was due to an allergy. Appalling service !! Do not go here. I will not be going ot recommending to friends or family.

As per below reply yet again this is untrue. The waitress at time of the order was made aware of the allergy as is very high allergy and dangerous to my friend.

Your staff minus 1 were very defensive and before evening finishing our meal, once you had amended my friends, were taken away from us once we had spoken to the manager regardless if we had finished or not we weren't asked. There was no free meal I paid in full at the end at the counter. I am appalled at you saying we do this on a regular basis this is entirely untrue and factually incorrect and in regards to you saying other businesses be aware please learn your basic allergy information we have never done this before nor will we ever do this its untrue. You whole reply has been a lie we will not use your company again and will make it known your appalling service.

Be aware customers they don't pay attention to customer allergies and make it out like you are in the wrong. Do not use this business if you have an allergy.

Just for your information Please check chip...

My husband and I went to this cafe yesterday, Sat 12th August. We ordered a breakfast then sat and waited. We have eaten here before, always good, and knew that food is cooked from order. But 30 mins later, we still hadn’t got our food. Then the table at the side of us, whose customers came in a good 10/15 mins after us, got their breakfast. So we asked why we were still waiting. The staff member went into the kitchen to ask, but then walked past us back to the counter. We’d had enough by this point. No one came over to explain why our food hadn’t arrived. They just walked past us, with no explanation. We walked out at this point. The customer service was nil. We were shocked that no one tried to explain. Just ignored. Not good enough. Very disappointed.

Hello, thank you so much for your quick response and your apology. We would love to meet with you face to face, as I’m still puzzled with what happened. Please let me know once you’re home, and we can meet. Thanking you again for your apology. Julie

Hi, I’ve just seen your message saying to pop in whenever. We are actually going away in the morning, 25th and will be back 1st September. So will call in soon after our return. Hope you enjoyed your...

My husband and I had lunch in the Deli on Saturday last. We did have quite a wait. But expect that when food is cooked to order. No problem. While we were waited we ordered a tea and coffee. I always like hot water with my tea. So when it didn't arrive I asked the waitress if I could have hot water. She seemed confused and repeated my request "hot water?" yes thank you. Again "hot water?" Yes boiling water please. The tea was very good. I asked her what brand you used. Again she looked confused, and said in a very off hand way "I don't know". Okay. So she just walked away, didn't say she would ask. I felt foolish. So the food arrived (30 + mins) My shepherd pie was lovely. The tiny amount of veg (one broccoli floret, 3 small carrot's) arrived stone cold. My husband was not to happy with his meal. But I think he just ordered the wrong meal. The Gyros wasn't as authentic, as he's used too. Pitta bread and separate french fries. Beetroot on the side. We waited at the counter for quite a while bill. We were ignored. Eventually I got someones attention. Such a shame. I saw some amazing sandwiches. The service was very sub standard for such...
