Pizza on the Square — Restaurant in England

We went here one Saturday lunch time. It was busy but the restaurant wasn't noisy. We sat in the window looking out over the market Square. I chose a vegan n'duja pizza. My partner chose the four cheese pizza. We both thought they were absolutely delicious. Mine was probably the most intricately flavoured pizza I have tried. Noticeably 'artisan'. We'll definitely return.

Service was fine - it's bar service not table. We found the owners to be friendly and helpful.

I really don't think new places deserve such scathing negative reviews. Were you perfect when you started your new job? Please give local independent businesses a chance to find their feet.

We stopped here for lunch while our car was changing. What a great location! And the building itself is really nice too. I'm not sure what it used to be, maybe a council building? Lots of character! They had plenty of tables available and more seating upstairs, also the menu looked great, who doesn't like pizza! Plus VEGAN cheese options!! It's order at the bar, and they have a large variety of drinks on offer. We unfortunately got charged extra for our meals but that was sorted out because of miscommunication from the staff. You couldn’t ask for a better location, right in the centre of the square with huge windows that flood the place with light. It’s exactly my sort of restaurant; there’s nothing worse than dining in a gloomy, dark space. I’ve been a couple of times now, once just for a sandwich and most recently to try their pizza.

As the name Pizza on the Square suggests, pizza is clearly their speciality, and for the price, I really can’t complain. The service was quick and the pizza itself was tasty: very cheesy, which I love. My only gripe is the tomato sauce, it felt like someone had just brushed a bit of red over the dough.
