The Dickens — Restaurant in England

After being let down by a local venue the DAY BEFORE our friends hen do The Dickens Inn came to the rescue!

After contacting them on Friday night, they managed to fit 25 of us in for bottomless brunch on the Saturday. They blocked off a large section of Dickens2 for our exclusive use from 4pm to allow time for decor of the space, with bottomless brunch starting at 6pm.

The staff were absolutely amazing, the drinks kept on flowing and the atmosphere was incredible! The cocktails kept on coming and prosecco was provided on all of our tables so that we could help ourselves. At the end of brunch we were told we could stay and have use of the area for the rest of the night and were given free reign of music choices and had a private dancefloor that was definitely put to use! We were so well looked after, and as the only one in the party on the non-alcoholic brunch option, the bar staff ensured that they personally handed my drinks to me to make sure there were no accidental mix ups.

We all had the most amazing night and it was a blessing in disguise that we had to change plans at such last minute!

Just been a meal with my boyfriend to the dickens. Saw 2 staff members walking around on their phone, none knew where the tables were we got brought the wrong food 3 times. Faces like slapped backsides. The food was great I got chicken fajitas which tasted amazing and well seasoned. Then got a dessert which they also brought out wrong and went said “oh no I wanted ice cream” the girl rolled her eyes at me and sighed, sorry but do your job right. Can’t help if Im allergic to something. She was so rude. And the dessert took 40 minutes to come out which then actually got sent out by another member of staff who wasn’t actually working because the girl didn’t want to see me again!! All I said was sorry no I wanted ice cream. Didn’t mean to offend you. Myself and my husband recently had our wedding reception at the dickens and we could not be happier with the service we received. We booked the gold room as it held the amount of people we wanted to attend and it had a great atmosphere. The staff were on hand to help throughout and couldn’t do enough for us. They catered for the 120 guests and everyone complimented the food, lots of choice and plenty to choose from. I’m thrilled we decided to book the gold room because it was everything we wanted, our friends loved the outdoor terrace and stayed there most of the evening. The team decorated the room exactly how we wanted and provided the sashes which saved us a job!
