Dreadful experience especially for such a beautiful place. Booked for Sunday dinner , arrived 10 minutes before our table reservation and was promptly shown to our table by a lovely member of the bar staff ( thats where the good service ended ) A lengthy wait for our drinks orders to be taken and indeed delivered. order taken for food , and midway through ordering the sunday lunch the waitress had to check if there was any beef left - no problem- anyway yes there was beef left so we ordered this .When the food arrived it was clearly the dregs of the beef which were dry and the yorkshire puddings were abysmal - mine was as flat as a pankcake and as hard as a rock - such a shame when we had watched other tables come out and they were huge , very impressive yorkshires. no one ever came to check the food was ok , nor could you get anyones attention so we carried on and ate what we could . One of our party wanted a dessert so we waited ...and waited for the table to be cleared and for someone to offer the dessert menu. Eventually we gave up and my partner went to pay at the bar .During this time a young girl came to the table to clear it and said are you ready for dessert , so we explained we had been waiting probably 20 minutes so weren't going to have one , and her answer was , yes well we're busy - we all appreciate that and arent impatient people but on top of the food being poor, the attitude of this young lady topped the experience off ! We said to her we dont need the bill to the table as we had gone to pay at the bar , and her answer was "right." No sorry , no how was your meal . Nothing . We were staying in the area for a holiday and wished we hadnt wasted an evening out here . Beautiful place but decor cant hide bad food and...

We stayed in the cottages that the farmers have available, the accommodation is great, comfortable, clean and perfectly located for a stay in Ulverston.|One negative regarding my booking, I booked 4 cottages for myself and my group of friends more than 3 months prior to my stay-using booking.com and with no explanation other than “it is no longer available” given, 3 weeks before my arrival one of the cottages was cancelled by the Farmers.|Luckily I was able to find another room elsewhere at different accommodation otherwise my friends would not have been able to attend at all !! then to add to this a week later the other 3 rooms were cancelled!! upon speaking to the farmers I was told that this was an error by booking.com and they should have just cancelled the one room and I could book the rooms direct with them, but all of a sudden 2 rooms price had increased by £50 and the other by £70, I can’t help but feel this has been done with it being Bank Holiday Weekend and demand being high just to make money out of us for the rooms that we booked and this somewhat tarnished my view...

We visited the restaurant earlier in the week and noticed tables were fairly full but the bar & restaurant seemed to have a calm/romantic atmosphere so decided to book for Friday for an evening meal... Big mistake!! 😂 Atmosphere was great for a group of rugby lads or a hen do but you couldn't hear yourself think for rowdy tables never mind place an order. The waitress actually brought out more drinks than we'd ordered because she misheard us, we were just too awkward to say anything so drank them and paid extra 😳 my partners food was great she had the brisket. I had the burger and would have personally given it a 3/5. I think this restaurant specializes in pizza though so id go for something like that next time... The interior and decor was lovely though I got the vibe the whole place is riding some massive tiktok popularity waive like a load of boomers have just discovered the place and decided to throw on their leopard print and feather hats. 10/10 for rowdy vibes and good customer service. 7/10 food. 1/10 romantic on a weekend but looked like a solid 8/10 if we'd gone two...

We had a nice evening meal here, just mains and a desert. I had mussels for my main course and a chocolate brownie for dessert. The mussels were tasty, in a nice white wine ginger and chilli sauce, however there were white a few closed inedible mussels and a lot of broken shells. When trying to get the sauce with my bread, oftentimes these small shell shards would end up in my bite which was honestly awful and of putting. On the bread topic, they pile it up on top which makes it hard to butter. I could have done with a separate plate for the bread and chips to prevent them getting soggy in the sauce and also to butter the bread on. That's the only reason I'm not giving it five stars. The venue is beautiful, the service is good and fast, the price is expected for the area and upmarket style restaurant. Overall good, just a few issues with the broken shells everywhere and closed mussels, but there were plenty of open ones too so it didn't affect the overall meal.

This is not a review of the food, as I didn't eat. Nor is it the accomodation, as I didn't stay. It is a review of a pint of Guinness I had there today. Tuesday afternoon, nice and quiet.. popped in for a pint. £5.10p. Very reasonable. Unfortunately downhill from there. I'll bullet point the problems.. to avoid a drawn out affair.. 1. The glass wasn't dry. You can tell this from the creeping mottled effect visible. 2. The head is about 5mm 3. There is Guinness spilt down the outside of the glass. 4. It tasted utterly awful. The first three problems on this list are forgivable.. but the last isn't. I've had many pints of Guinness, in many places.. but this was in the bottom 3. Very disappointed. Given that you can buy a four pack from the supermarket for roughly the same outlay.. people bemoan pubs going out of business... but do we ask why? Bartenders being able to pour/keep a decent pint helps..

We visited The Farmers pub today while on our trip into Ulverston for the day. Sat outside in the bear garden at the front of the pub. Service inside was quick and a nice refreshing cold drink to help us cope with the heatwave today. I cant comment on the food as we only had drinks. Before leaving we visited the rest room, omg what a lovely ladies toom, smelt nice on walking in the decor was 1st class. I've visited some pubs on my travels but never yet seen a ladies toilets as clean and tidy as this was. That's why I give it 5stars and I told the bar staff when we was walking out what a pleasure it was to use. Will definitely be back next time we are there
